Ahh, the humble sandwich bag is a stalwart of every childhood. We can all remember our packed lunches. I remember a lot of Ziploc bags were used for mine. For this season, Raf Simons’ goal for Jil Sander is to bring back childhood forms like this cardboard sandwich bag.
I get the sentiment but I am not sure how practical this would be. It’s cute and it’s a little kitschy but aside from that, I think holding on to this the whole day might prove to be a bit tiresome because there are no handles nor straps. I guess you could also use this to store your adult packed lunches; this is definitely more durable than the regular paper bags. But the beauty about paper bags lies in their disposability. Mayonnaise from your sandwich spills out? Just throw the bag away. I am not sure if you can do the same with this without feeling a big pinch. What do you guys think?
