I did a bit of a roadtrip from Victoria to New South Wales and I stopped for a night at the small holiday coastal town of Pambula. It was meant to be a quick sleep-and-drive-on kind of thing but instead, I discovered a local gem with food that is definitely worth writing home about.
This friendly joint has both outdoor and indoor seating and affable staff that are attentive without being too overbearing or artificial. It’s a perfect compliment to the exquisite food that they serve. The crusted tuna entree was cooked and spiced to perfection; with each bite releasing a punch of earthy flavor. The saffron risotto was generously portioned and had a sweet and slightly sticky consistency that helped bring out the flavors of the mixed seafood.
On that note, I didn’t personally find their oysters that fantastic. I’ve had better but I’ll be talking and occasionally thinking about their other dishes for a long time to come.
