I am very glad that Valentino is making clothes for men again and their new sleek aesthetic is often spot-on and completely desirable. Which is why I am a little thrown off by this navy blazer from them.
On first glance, it seems like a stunning, refined jacket that will be a special companion for many years to come. This is what I first thought. After all, the use of leather as trims on the lapel is modern, smart and adds a touch of edge that will not go unappreciated. Then I saw the huge double pockets and that totally killed any desire I had for this jacket. I don’t get it. I don’t get why they have to be so huge. Especially when the rest of the blazer has modern refinement written all over it. Shame.
