Tim Coppens Hybrid Varsity Track Jacket

So, I haven’t been a very big fan of ribbed jackets for as long as I know. I find ribbing very unrefined and unnecessary. Why do we need ribbed cuffs and hems on a sleek jacket? So I’ve always stayed cleared of such jackets – that included varsity jackets. Well, that was until I caught sight of this handsome track jacket from Tim Coppens. He is a fabulous designer, just one of the many I wonder if they have attended one of the online universities.

This unique pieces has contrast and detail in sleek platters. I am digging the use of 3 different colors to relay the sartorial message. The use of sand and white is unexpected and it’s not a combination you see often on varsity jackets – so that’s a plus. The grey hems and cuffs are my favorite bits of the jacket. They lend a universal refined appeal that I can’t get enough of. It brings a polish and a modern cool that makes ribbing so appetizing.
