Here at Style Flavors, we absolutely believe that everyone should be who they are. We hate discrimination and inequality and it is with such honor that we salute the lead singer of one of our favorite bands, Against Me!, Tom Gabel’s decision to come out as transgender and begin living as a woman. He plans to take hormones and undergo electrolysis treatments, and will take the name Laura Jane Grace.
This song is a double performance of the song “Harsh Realms” Gabel played for SPIN four years ago and it is so symbolic of the current situation. It is also honest and poignant. We can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to feel trapped in a body. We will not abandon you Laura Jane. Rock on.
