Gap Military Mockneck Cardigan

by Nicolas

I don’t know about you but I am very much looking forward to the end of the year and colder weather for that matter. It’s September tomorrow and I will be very busy the next couple of months and in that vein, time will fly. I am looking forward to spending a few weeks in Europe and like always, I have started wardrobe planning.

A chunky cardigan like this piece from Gap will be great this Fall. I am digging the big contrast buttons that compliment the chunkiness of the cardigan perfectly. The two side pockets are cute and provide both form and function – store change, credit card, keys etc. Perfect for an errand run in style.

The stand collar makes for a dapper look – a look that makes this a worthy buy. Get this Gap Military Mockneck Cardigan for US$69.50 at Gap.

Diesel “Lafsh” Leather Zip Up Jacket

by Nicolas

We know that leather jackets don’t come cheap; they are investment pieces that usually have 4-figure price tags attached to their timeless, classic beauty. I call my leather jackets the Berkshire-Hathaway stocks in my closet -they are my sartorial investment. That said, It is a lot of money to commit on just one piece but fret not. For those of you on a smaller budget, I have the perfect leather piece.

This awesome jacket from Diesel is inducing serious lust-bumps. The exposed zippers on the sleeves and back are details that I am digging the most. They show off attention to detail and compliment the whole tough-biker vibe of this piece so perfectly that it’s futile to resist. The multiple zippers add to the tough utilitarian vibe that is refined at the same time. I can’t stop looking at this and the wallet friendly price-tag makes this a kick-ass no-brainer.

Islands/Love The Way You Lie

by Nicolas

I love covers. There is nothing like a great cover. That said, I’ve been listening to this mesh-up of The XX’s Islands with Eminem’s Love The Way You Lie covered by The Pretty Reckless. Say what you want about Taylor Momsen – if she wants to dress like a hooker, I say more power to her (although her character in Gossip Girl needs to be killed off along with that Vanessa chick. They are both a waste of space). Enjoy.

J.Crew Secret Wash Lightweight Point-Collar Shirt In Medium Gingham

by Nicolas

I have days when I don’t feel like wearing anything I have – lazy, can’t-be-bothered days when I stand in front of the closet and feel that everything I have takes too much work. I had one of those days recently and I threw this shirt on and headed out of the house.

This did everything it was supposed to do – make me look like I tried even though I couldn’t be bothered. The classic, wonderful gingham print is a savior on such days – you can get away with a lot without even trying hard. The casual yet dressy vibe from this shirt looks perfect with dark denim or chinos or shorts. In other words, a wardrobe chameleon that you don’t have to burst the bank for.

Comme Des Garcons Play Black Emblem Cardigan

by Nicolas

I have been a fan of Comme Des Garcons Play line for many years now and the heart motif never gets old. It’s just quirky and fun and I don’t think I can get tired of it.

Cardigans are ubiquitous not just in times of cooler winds but during warmer Summer nights too. Hence, they are wardrobe requisites that can also pull double duty – at work and play. I like how this is serious enough for the boardroom but still different and cool enough for the night on the town after.

The grey works for all occasions while the black heart says it all with its individualistic quiet playfulness – perfect for days when you want a quick sartorial pick-me-up that never gets old.
