The plaid trend is strong this Fall and though at Style Flavors, we don't believe in following trends - we believe in classic, timeless pieces that will give you mileage for years and years to come.

That said, we think this shirt would be great for casual, chilled out days where you throw on your favorite pair of jeans and sneakers and have long lunches. The faded glass effect gives this a slight modern edge and we think it looks better than regular plaid.

Each season, I can always count on Marni to provide pieces that make me want to get my credit card out. Not only are Marni pieces functional, they are cool, understated and won't look out of style years from now. So imagine my disgust when I saw this.

This fecal colored shirt is far from being visually pleasing and the 'fading flowers' muslin pattern just looks like someone left their a slice of bread out in the rain and forgot about it for a year. It looks moldy and stained. Like white teeth after years of cigarettes. 

This just reminds me of stale bread and dirty ashtrays. They belong in the trash and not on anyone's back.

I, for one, love it when designers take something classic and interpret it in their own individualistic way while retaining all the qualities of the classic design. This ankle boot from Marni is one such example.

At first glance, this might seem like a regular ankle boot with a stitch pattern. But if you look closely, you'll realize just how different it is. The zipper on this pair is located on the front as opposed to the side like most boots. This zipper is semi-hidden by a leather placket so there is subtlety and functionality. This pair of boots will probably be easier to slip on because of where the zipper is located. I've had my fair share of boots that have taken a little bit more time to wear because of the location of the zipper.

This shiny calf leather boots also has a cool slim stitch design running around the outside lining of the shoe. This adds a simple touch of detail. Not too much, not too little; just right. The dark grey shade goes perfectly with black tailored pants. I am looking forward to getting my hands on these!

This stylish small wallet from Marni is perfect for those who don't want to deal with the bulkiness of a traditional wallet or the inconvenience of not having slot for credit cards with money clips.

This soft nappa calf leather wallet looks like a double fold wallet but when you flip it open, you'll find a note clip (so if you're used to storing your greens with a clip, you don't have to get used to something new). On the outside, there are 3 credit card inserts so you can rest easy and charge it all when spreeing at the Balenciaga boutique.

I am also loving the deep green shade of the leather. It is just the right combination of brown and green that will go with both your work and play attire.

This handsome 100% virgin wool cardigan from Marni is on my want list for Fall. Its clean lines and solid contrast colors will make this a classic piece that you can wear for years to come.

The grey and black combination is suitable for both work and casual situation. The buttons on this cardigan is hidden by the front placket. What I love most about this is the detached neckline. If you look closely, you can see a gap between the neckline and the body of the cardigan! I just love the fresh, subtle spin on a classic piece such as this.

This is made to be a little over-sized, so if you're not a fan of wearing your clothes loose, take this to your tailor and have it taken in and altered to your liking.

I am a sucker for detail and subtlety. Intimate details should only be known by you and a few selected others; that is luxury. These ankle boots from Marni are a fine example.

Looking at the picture, you might be inclined to think that there are 3 buckles on these boots. In actuality, it is one leather strap sliding into 2 other metal slots giving the impression of individual buckles! How neat is that? 

No one can spot the unique detail when you're wearing with jeans or tailored pants and going about your day unless you share it with your best pals or fellow shoe connoisseurs. It's like a fun little piece of information that is all yours until you choose to spread the word.

How true! It is clear that money doesn't buy you class or style. I've always believed a true test of a person's beauty is how he/she relates to others around; and not simple by dressing the part.
