Marni Blue Metal Sunglasses
Marni Blue Metal Sunglasses detail
Eye wear is a platform for expression that I don't think I do very well. I wear sunglasses to shield my eyes from the sun or when I do not want to be disturbed. But I know people who match their outfits to their glasses and buy glasses as often as shoe fiends buy shoes.

I think this striking blue pair would appeal to some. The angular, almost rectangular shape is structured and gives a strong, masculine feel. The blue tone is a breath of color and it contrasts nicely with the metal arm.

The light tinted lenses round up this engaging pair. Unlike some sunglasses, you can use this frame too for daily glasses by replacing the lenses with prescription ones.

Marni Hand-Dyed Pinstriped Shirt
Marni Hand-Dyed Pinstriped Shirt details
Pinstripes have a traditional, tried-and-tested look to them that works great for work and executive environments. They also make for good layering pieces but I sometimes, find them a tad unexciting. They are reliable but I wouldn't turn to them if I wanted to shake things up a little.

But this hand-dyed pinstriped shirt is definitely one that I will have on my back if I want to have a dose of texture and color. The tradional pinstripe is given a refreshing spin with the gradual varying shades of blue. It instantly adds a hit of color that will be appreciated in the gloomy months of Fall.

The natural slightly crinkled look is deliberate. You are meant to throw this on and go about your day. No ironing, no wondering if it's tucked equally. Just throw on and go. There is a fun, cool vibe about this that I really like. The cool vibe extends to the pinstriped detail which is subtle here because of the vibrant blue and white.

A wonderful piece for low maintenance days. Get this Marni Hand-Dyed Pinstriped Shirt for US$505 at Marni
Marni Derby Lace-Ups

Marni Derby Lace-Ups front
If I had to choose my favorite type of dress shoes, lace-ups would be it. There's something about an upper vamp pulled together by laces, a strong toe and versatility that speaks to me. Plus, they are easier to pull off with say, jeans, when you're in the mood for a more casual look.

When I buy shoes these days, I'm looking for something different, something unique. It can be really simple with a detail that stands out and I'm pretty sold - unless of course, it's uncomfortable or doesn't conform to your feet the way you would like it to.You know, the other aspects of shoe buying that isn't as exciting.

The pair from Marni caught my eye with its sandal cut and weave. A modern update on the classic lace-up design. It's subtle yet apparent to those in the know - a great example of intimate detail. The weave is simple and yet striking enough to make an impression.

This will look outstanding be it for work or play. And the gap from the weave detail will expose just the slightest hint of your socks. Or if you have enough attitude, try going sockless and expose a sliver of skin. No better time to do it than in Spring and Summer.

The color is another draw for me - blue with hits of grey and a slight greenish hint. I sure don't have a color like that in my shoe wardrobe. The only thing left to do is to see if it's comfortable...

Marni Faded Glass ShirtThe plaid trend is strong this Fall and though at Style Flavors, we don't believe in following trends - we believe in classic, timeless pieces that will give you mileage for years and years to come.

That said, we think this shirt would be great for casual, chilled out days where you throw on your favorite pair of jeans and sneakers and have long lunches. The faded glass effect gives this a slight modern edge and we think it looks better than regular plaid.

The 100% silk fabric will feel great all year round and will be light enough for layering in the warmer summer months. The wrinkled effect of the fabric just adds to the cool nonchalant vibe.

This will look even better fitted so take this to your alteration person and have him/her take it in to fit snug.

Each season, I can always count on Marni to provide pieces that make me want to get my credit card out. Not only are Marni pieces functional, they are cool, understated and won't look out of style years from now. So imagine my disgust when I saw this.

This fecal colored shirt is far from being visually pleasing and the 'fading flowers' muslin pattern just looks like someone left their a slice of bread out in the rain and forgot about it for a year. It looks moldy and stained. Like white teeth after years of cigarettes.

This just reminds me of stale bread and dirty ashtrays. They belong in the trash and not on anyone's back.

Marni Zip Ankle Boot Marni Zip Ankle Boot 1I, for one, love it when designers take something classic and interpret it in their own individualistic way while retaining all the qualities of the classic design. This ankle boot from Marni is one such example.

At first glance, this might seem like a regular ankle boot with a stitch pattern. But if you look closely, you'll realize just how different it is. The zipper on this pair is located on the front as opposed to the side like most boots. This zipper is semi-hidden by a leather placket so there is subtlety and functionality. This pair of boots will probably be easier to slip on because of where the zipper is located. I've had my fair share of boots that have taken a little bit more time to wear because of the location of the zipper.

This shiny calf leather boots also has a cool slim stitch design running around the outside lining of the shoe. This adds a simple touch of detail. Not too much, not too little; just right. The dark grey shade goes perfectly with black tailored pants. I am looking forward to getting my hands on these!

Marni Note-Clip Double Fold Wallet Marni Note-Clip Double Fold Wallet 1This stylish small wallet from Marni is perfect for those who don't want to deal with the bulkiness of a traditional wallet or the inconvenience of not having slot for credit cards with money clips.

This soft nappa calf leather wallet looks like a double fold wallet but when you flip it open, you'll find a note clip (so if you're used to storing your greens with a clip, you don't have to get used to something new). On the outside, there are 3 credit card inserts so you can rest easy and charge it all when spreeing at the Balenciaga boutique.

I am also loving the deep green shade of the leather. It is just the right combination of brown and green that will go with both your work and play attire.
