I used to shun belts or rather never gave a shit about them because I wear my jeans without belts and I design my pants sans belt loops. It saves me the hassle of dealing with one more accessory and I think pants without belt loops look cleaner, more streamlined and slightly dressier. After all, you don’t wear a belt with a tuxedo.
But ever since I got into chinos and bought my first belt in years, I’ve realized how much fun belts can be and I’ve been relishing diving into them again. This piece from Gucci has my vote.
With its simple, clean design and an eye-catching refined knot detail, this piece exerts itself without screaming. It’s a polished piece that will look great paired with everything. The knot detail is unexpected and enticing – a wonderful combination for a newly converted sartorial backslider.
