Ever since Alexander McQueen brought his skull motif to the forefront of fashion, it has been copied tirelessly and mostly to unsatisfying results. So I’ve always went with the thought that if I wanted skulls, I’d go to the original source and get something from McQueen. I bought a handful of pieces from the Spring Summer 2011 Givenchy collection a few weeks ago and they were starting to bring in their Fall 2011 collection in the stores.
This skull collar tee caught my eye and I instantly gravitated towards it. For starters, the skulls don’t look like they are trying to rip McQueen off. The shape, size and color shading looks original. And the simple use of white to contrast black is classic and undeniably effective. The result is a tee that is rocking and a stand out.
