This season, double breasted coats are ubiquitous. And with good reason, they look sleek, dashing and just proper in every sartorial sense of the word. I haven't jumped on the double breasted coats' bandwagon as yet because I have been distracted by other things and I haven't gotten to searching for a coat with the right fit and proportions.
If you, like me, have thought about injecting some double breasted style into your wardrobe; a double breasted shirt would be a good way to start. You don't see double breasted shirts often so this is a great find, if I do say so myself.
Juma is an up-and-coming Toronto-based label started by two talented siblings, Alia and Jamil Juma. Their line is a fresh interpretation of knitwear and jersey basics mixed with directional accent pieces for both men and women. I love their fresh spin on classics such as vests, cardigans and shirts (like this double breasted piece!)
I am loving the sleek, unconventional look of this shirt. The double breasted detail coupled with the two slant hand pockets makes this a drool-worthy piece. You get the classic, crisp nature of a shirt with the versatile structured look of a double breasted coat in one piece. This would look fantastic with jeans, pants or shorts. An easy way to inject some variety into a wardrobe. Mine, at least.
