I haven't bought shoes in a while. It was an amalgamation of factors - the shitty economy, the increasing unemployment rate and the fact that there haven't been anything that really screamed out to me that I could wear over and over again. So I didn't think much about it until a few days back.
I was just doing my usual browsing when I came across this splendid pair at Emporio Armani. It ignited something in me that I didn't think would be lighted up that easily. I started looking at this pair and then thinking about the many outfits that this would be good with. My shoe lust is back.
I love how simple and classic this looks but more importantly, I love the pleated motif detail at the side and the mid-portion of the shoe. It gives an instant dash of cool yet collectedness that just resonates with me.
The dark brown shade is gorgeous and will look great with both tailored pants, chinos and dark denim while the classic lace-up style will serve you well for years. Be it work or play, this would be a pair that would be complemented on more than just once.

Graphic prints are usually best taken in small doses - like medication. Because the result of someone being too generous with said prints is something like this.
I am all up for floral prints or prints that are inspired by nature. But I don't know what to make out of this sweater. Is this supposed to resemble a skinny tree bark with a single leaf? If so then, why stop there? Why not add roots and the complimentary weeds?
The contrast black strips on the cuffs are a cute detail but the cuteness dies there. Not really the kind of effect you want in dreary winter.

Certain concepts look better on paper and in the realms of imagination than they do in reality. Like wanting to go club hopping during Halloween dressed as a life-sized tub of Vaseline; only to realize you can't fit into the mini-van hired or a regular taxi.
Just like this pair of bi-color leather wingtips - I am on the fence on this one and I've been staring at it for long enough trying to decide which side of the fence I should be on.
On one hand, my initial impression was 'oh, gross'. The black calf leather with hits of faded brown don't equate to sharp and we all want to be taken seriously most of the time - I am just not sure how seriously I would be taken if I had these on.
That said, I think this would look good on selected individuals; paired with tailored pants and an attitude. But it's so selective. Hmmm...

I am attracted to detail; both big and small. But what eventually takes the cake and seals the deal and have me wipe out my credit card is when an item has understated, subtle, classic detail. Details that you notice if you look closely enough.
This pair of striking boots has just what it takes to induce desire. The side zip closure adds a dash of cool while the snap closure that wraps around the front of the boot allows an easy slip on while proudly and quietly displaying its origin.
The cracked quality of this 100% lambskin adds a vintage charm that will only get better with age and wear - this will look fantastic with denim!
