Dsquared2 Nordic Zipped Sweater Dsquared2 Nordic Zipped Sweater 1Despite greenhouse effects and global warming, warm winters are still winters and that means keeping and staying warm with assistance. So you want to look sleek and structured and refined despite all your layers and not like a pudgy hip-hopper swimming in layers of wool.

You also do not want to look like a walking domino set. Which was my first thought when I saw this. This might be a traditional Nordic pattern and as much as I appreciate and respect tradition, I do not think this makes a stylish sweater.

In fact, it is just too much detail and I have no idea where to look first. And I don't care if it's a 'designer' piece because ugliness is ugliness and an ugly designer piece is just expensive visual assault.

If you're into Nordic patterns, you can fabric for only US$5-12 here. If you don't know how to knit or simply just don't have the time to, take the rest of the US$733 you would spend on this mess and hire someone to knit it for you. I bet you'll still have money to some salmon for dinner after!

Dsquared2 Dsquared2 There are certain pieces in my wardrobe (like Comme Des Garcons' Play line) that just exudes a fun, playful vibe. I wear them when I feel like not taking myself so seriously.

This shirt from Dsquared2 is fun, detailed and youthful. I am digging the 3/4 contrast trim on the button placket that was made to look like a short skinny tie. The little thunder bolt with a 'ROCK ON' tag just captures the young, energetic vibe so well. The great thing is, it's not loud neither is it over-the-top. It's like a small shirt tattoo.

I am also liking the black buttons that serve as a subtle contrast to the white of the shirt. I think this would look best worn snug so take this in to your tailor and have it altered so that it looks just like it was made for you.

Dsquared2 Lace Up Patent Dsquared2 Lace Up Patent detail

I love sharp, pointed shoes. It's usually one of the prerequisites I have when deciding between a bunch of shoes when only allowing myself to take home 1 pair; 2 pairs max. I was initially surprised at this pair because Dsquared2 is usually too OTT(Over-The-Top) for me.

This lace-up patent shoe from Dsquared2 is as sharp as they get which is what caught my eye. The croc-embossed patent leather is the second thing I noticed. I know it's not real crocodile skin but the finish on this pair of lace-ups is sleek and refined. The patent sheen adds just the right touch of striking glaze.

Now I just have to figure out why they don't have this in my size. Get this for US$540 at Saks Fifth Avenue.
