D&G Dolce & Gabbana Cotton Striped Woven Shirt D&G Dolce & Gabbana Cotton Striped Woven Shirt detail

Versatile pieces always get my vote. I like getting as much mileage as I possibly can from everything I own so as much as I can, I make sure my shirts have what it takes to take me anywhere.

Stripes + grey + contrast. Sounds like a stylish formula to me. This slim-fitting shirt will look equally great with jeans or work pants; tucked out or in.

The shorter collar gives a modern, younger vibe while the cute tiny embroidered logo sits subtly on the left middle front of the shirt.

What I am really liking is the half-cover button placket; so half the buttons on the shirt are visible while the other half of those buttons are hidden. Bonus points for this shirt.

D&G Dolce & Gabanna Leather JacketLeather jackets are investment pieces. Sure, they don't come cheap but you will wear yours for life. Hence, the fit and obviously, the design and attention to detail is crucial - since plonking down a 4 figure sum for an item will not give you the same returns that buying cheap stocks would (and waiting for them to go up - but that's another story altogether) given the whole economic blip.

I've been staring at this jacket for a while now and I am quite drawn to this. The 4 zipper pockets ensures you have ample space for your daily essentials. This would also make a good traveling companion and would save you the occasional hassle of carrying around a day bag.

The stand collar with a button snap tab can be undone or done according to what you're wearing that particular day. If you have a statement shirt with a eye-catching collar, un-snap the collar and lower the zip. If you're wearing something without a collar, snap and zip it up and stay toasty.

This looks like it would fit snug which is another plus point, the short hemline provides a modern vibe while the dark brown lambskin will go quite well with most every color.

D&G Dolce & Gabanna V-Neck SweaterV-neck sweaters make for great layering pieces all year round. During the Summer months, you can take this with you to the office or leave it in the car for when it gets chilly. For the Winter months, pair this with your favorite shirts.

The charcoal color provides an easy to match alternative to the usual black or white while the grey trim adds the right hint of color and detail. Its blend of cashmere, wool, nylon and rayon ensures softness while providing warmth.

D&G Dolce & Gabbana Plaid Jacket D&G Dolce & Gabbana Plaid Jacket 1My eyes were confused when I first saw this. I didn't know what to cringe at first, the dowdy plaid or the unnecessary faux shearling trim.

I understand the need for greater insulation during winter and hence, extra fabric that serves an actual function. This faux shearling trim is just there because it's there; and what is up with the big shearling cuff? It looks like a big wad of organized pubes growing out in-between someone's trip to the waxer.

The plaid just adds 10 years to your look; it is neither flattering nor charming. The brown on the pattern reminds me of rust and I don't need that reminder on a 4-figure jacket. The exposed seam just shows you why you shouldn't spend your hard-earned money on this.

D&G Dolce & Gabbana Wool BlazerDetails are great; detail and subtlety even greater. But the patchwork design on this wool blazer is nothing but subtle. It is big, loud, confusing and old.

I don't understand why designers would want to complicate their creations. Do they think that more 'details' means more warrant to charge more? More is less and you would think someone at D&G would get that by now.

It looks the type of arts and crafts project I used to do in elementary school where you learned about shapes by cutting different colored felt fabric and gluing them on a blank piece of paper. This is just like that - except you're not getting much of an education because all there is on this blazer is rectangles and squares and a ridiculous 4 digit price tag.

If you ever need an expensive reminder of your early years, you can find this for US$1,295 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

D&G Dolce & Gabanna Stretch Wool Vest D&G Dolce & Gabanna Stretch Wool Vest 1This handsome wool stripe vest from D&G will serve you well in both work and causal situation. It's 4 button and 4 pocket design gives a functional and elongated look.

Pair this with a shirt and it'll be enough for the boardroom without a need for a blazer and pair this with a tee and it'll instantly give you a dressier look. Gotta love versatility!

The classic stripe design will ensure style longevity and will still be relevant years from now! Get this for US$285 at Bergdorf Goodman.
