Converse by John Varvatos Chuck Taylor High Top Sneaker Converse by John Varvatos Chuck Taylor High Top Sneaker 1I am huge fan of Converse sneakers; I think they are comfortable and cool and can be dressed up (worn with a pair of tailored pants) or dressed down (shorts) or casual (jeans). In fact, I went through high school alternating between my different colored pair of chucks.

This limited edition high top variety by John Varvatos features the same painted-on canvas effect as the other limited edition designs. It is made to look distressed, with specks of white paint on it and like most chucks, will look better with age and wear.

What is unique about this pair is that there is no need for you to tie any lace because it's a slip-on pair of high tops that is made to look otherwise. The lace here in this case; is merely just for show. How cool is that?

This is also available in white. Get this for US$125 at Barney's Co-Op.

Converse chucks are one of my favorite things to wear. They are so classic and iconic and they go with everything. From shorts, to jeans to tailored pants. This updated pair is rocking with studs on the vamp (both sides of the lace area) and the quarter (the mid portion on the back of the sneaker). The painted canvas material adds to the nonchalant appeal; you could dirty it as much as you want and the stains will look like they're meant to be there. I raced down to Barney's and got a pair as soon as I saw these. I only wished they had more studs. Get them at Barney's for US$125.
