I vividly remember the first time I laid eyes on the first-ever version of this pair of sneakers. It was after Christmas and it was so awesome that I immediately drove to Barneys and bought a pair. It was in black and I wore it to death. Literally. I wore it till it fell apart.
So imagine my surprise when I saw this eerie blue version the other day. I don’t get it. I don’t get the fake blue paint color and I don’t get the blue studs. I would enjoy a dark navy pair but this blue looks a little lame to me. It has an artificial vibe that doesn’t feel very punk. It just feels like it’s trying way too hard. Which is a real shame because it’s not supposed to be this way…
