I first discovered Very Victoria when I was in Rome last December. I was channel surfing and of course, I ended up on MTV and she was on. I don’t speak Italian but I found myself laughing along with her which goes to show that humor is universal.
She seems like a whole bunch of fun and her promo ads for her show is killer. Like this one above where she sings in Mandarin and does the whole bar-chick-in-the-50s dance.

There are certain times when you just need a burger. Nothing else but a good solid burger. You know the feeling? I was in that particular mood for bread and I was quite tired of goulash and sausages and so The Bohemian Bakery was just the place I needed.
The inside looks like a canteen. Spacious with booth seats. Like a canteen diner. The smell of fresh bread hits you as you walk in and it’s a great feeling of familiarity. The menu is extensive from omelettes to sandwiches to burgers to cakes. So in other words, it’s a great place for all 3 meals.

Perhaps it’s the influence of deep-seeded passion or faith but monks do do it better. They make wine, spearheaded modern genetics, have recording deals (that one cancels itself out. The Gregorian chanting of popular 90s one-hit wonder songs give me a terrible headache) and make fantastic beer.
The Augustiner Brewery in Salzburg makes one of the best beers I ever had. Hands down. It was light, refreshing and just simply wonderful. The monastery-turned-refinery has stores where you can buy German/Austrian staples – like pretzels, currywursts, pork knuckle etc to have with your beer.

Drinking is one of my greatest passions in life. I don’t know how I can ever live a life where alcohol isn’t a reality. I have a personal rule: there are 3 things my fridge will never run out of (in no particular order) – ice cream, face masks and alcohol. So yeah, alcohol is part of my everyday life.
That said, wine bars are some of my favorite places to chill and hang out at. The same people behind the successful Supperclub are also responsible for the fantastic Vyne in Amsterdam.
Vyne has a nondescript looking exterior – a sort-of blink-and-you’ll-miss kind of thing. So you do have to keep your eyes peeled for the Vyne banner at the window.

You know how some people eat to live? Well, I live to eat. I love food – and I would eat a lot of things spanning every cuisine. I can go as far to say that food is one of my passions in life. Throughout the past couple of months, I keep hearing about the greatness of Vox from my neighbor (Vox is his favorite restaurant in Berlin in his favorite hotel, The Grand Hyatt) and I knew I had to try it out.
I didn’t have to wait long since I was invited by said neighbor to dinner at this refined restaurant a few weeks ago. There was no exaggeration on his part – Vox is everything you would want from a restaurant. Great service and exquisite food.

I love mojitos and even though I don’t have an aching desire to go to Cuba, I enjoy their cusine and their cocktails. The Cuban Bar (La Bodeguita Del Medio) is a lively, happening spot for that extra large glass of mojitos and some very decent food.
You can order a double mojitos and it comes in a huge soda glass – which still goes down quickly because they are just so easy to drink. Tell your server how you like your drinks. Sweet, tart or strong. My first glass was made too sweet but the second one had a tartness that was right up my alley.
