Burberry At The Emmys

by Nicolas

Burberry dressed the following guests at 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. Winner of Creative Emmy for Producer of Best Reality Program “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution”, Ryan Seacrest wore a custom-tailored black notch lapel tuxedo, shirt, tie and shoes and so did Bryan Cranston (Winner of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for “Breaking Bad”), Aaron Paul (Winner of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for “Breaking Bad”) and Glee’s Kevin Mchale.

Rainn Wilson and Hugh Dancy both chose a custom-tailored ink colour notch lapel tuxedo, shirt and shoes. As a side note, I am glad Modern Family won Best Comedy!

Islands/Love The Way You Lie

by Nicolas

I love covers. There is nothing like a great cover. That said, I’ve been listening to this mesh-up of The XX’s Islands with Eminem’s Love The Way You Lie covered by The Pretty Reckless. Say what you want about Taylor Momsen – if she wants to dress like a hooker, I say more power to her (although her character in Gossip Girl needs to be killed off along with that Vanessa chick. They are both a waste of space). Enjoy.

Art Of Elysium GENESIS Event

by Nicolas

If you are in the LA area, do check out the Art Of Elysium GENESIS Event – a celebration of emerging artists with a large focus on fashion, art and music. Guests will enjoy several performances including Fitz & the Tantrums, Butch Walker and DJ Chris Holmes.

The Art of Elysium is a non-profit organization that helps children battling life threatening illnesses heal emotionally and physically through the gift of art. Paige Denim has generously donated a “jean bar” where all guests in attendance will receive a pair of PAIGE JEANS. Expect other surprises from sponsors like Rogue – A Relativity Media Company and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

The host committee also includes actors Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos), Sam Trammell and Rutina Wesley from the best show on TV right now, True Blood. So you never know who you might bump into!

Free denim, music, celebrities, fun and a fantastic cause – this is one awesome way to spend a Saturday night!

Gabriel Aubry’s Voice

by Nicolas

How often do you hear models speak? Not very often. We see them on ads and prints and think ‘oh that looks good..’ and that’s it. NY Post has a great piece with a video of an interview with Gabriel Aubry (genetically blessed supermodel and you might know him as Halle Berry’s ex). He has a prepossessing, flawless look but his voice? It just doesn’t match that look.

I’ve attached a video of soundclips from his interview. But the better video is the ET interview on NY Post where he talks about dieting and having a good trainer and being the male Ivanka Trump. It’s funny!

I’ve been watching the clip over and over again and it’s pretty amusing. He’s hawking bedsheets and selling it hard but I don’t buy it. He’s better off fronting suits and chambray shirts. I guess that’s the point though, wrap him in a towel and sheets and even though he does’t come with said bedroom essentials, you think you’re getting a part of him by purchasing these sheets. Smart move on their part.

And also, life is unfair. Looking like him means that most everything that comes out of your mouth sounds like music. So what’s next? Kleenex 4-ply toilet paper? I’ll buy that (at Costco!) – but only because I need them.
