Burberry Prorsum Beige Military Style Shirt

by Nicolas

Growing up, I never was a fan of beige. I thought it was boring and pasty. But everything, when done right, can look great. This military shirt from Burberry Prorsum shows just how beige can look anything but drab.

The sharp military style of this shirt gives this a rough yet refined utilitarian vibe and indeed, the two chest pockets give you the option to keep ticket stubs, cards, cash and whatever you need to get through the day. The beige color makes this perfect for all year round wear. Its neutrality makes this something versatile so dress this up or down. Either way, it’ll look good.

Burberry Prorsum Indigo Wash Denim Shirt

by Nicolas

I recently bought a Lanvin x Acne denim shirt that is pretty rad. It’s dark denim with the classic Lanvin grosgrain ribbon collar detail. So I’m quite into denim shirts now and this version from Burberry Prorsum A/W 2010 collection as seen on the runway is one to covet and own.

The dark denim rinse is sleek and clean – a shade that works for both dressy and less formal occasions. The two chest pockets provides a slight western cowboy feel but all association with the tackiness that occasionally comes with cowboys and western garb is put to rest with the stylish black snap buttons that adorn this denim shirt.

The blank buttons give this a refined vibe that contrasts splendidly with the classic yellow-thread stitching. Get this Burberry Prorsum Indigo Wash Denim Shirt for US$275 at Burberry.

Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2011 Menswear Show

by Nicolas

Here are 5 looks from Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2011 Pre Collection. You can see leather jackets will take center stage next Summer. With good reason, they are classic, tough, luxe pieces that stand the test of time. I’m totally in a leather jacket phase right now – working on acquiring a few myself as we speak. The mustard color leather jacket stood out the most for it. It’s got the right amount of gorgeous with toughness. That’s a combination I can always stand behind.

Burberry will also launch its Burberry Acoustic initiative. This initiaive celebrates the Burberry heritage of founding, developing and supporting emerging British talent. Burberry Acoustic will collaborate with British artists across multiple Burberry experiences through the attitude and energy of  music. All the artists are selected by Christopher Bailey and filmed exclusively for Burberry in the UK.

We have collaborated on so many projects with new and young emerging British bands over the years. We felt that with the great interaction that we have experienced with our social media website artofthetrench that we could collaborate with musicians and artists to put together an incredible group of ongoing acoustic sessions from some of the finest talent coming out of the UK and bring them to the broad global Burberry audience” – Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer

Burberry Prorsum Jersey Strap Top

by Nicolas

I dig it when fashion takes a dive into the edgier realm of expression and ever since the Givenchy store in Paris ran out of my size in Fall 09’s bondage leather shoes, I have been thinking about bondage-influenced pieces ever since.

This Burberry top with bondage straps is a great alternative to wearing bondage straps on your feet. The premise is simple: Cotton top with criss-cross straps that go around the front and the back to provide an adjustable strap-on feeling of being well, bounded, in a sexy, sartorial way.

The lightness of the fabric and the dark navy shade is great for all year round wear; on it own or over as a layer. Whenever you’re in a mood for making a statement.
