The devil’s in the details and one (of the many) reasons why I adore Nicolas Ghesquiere and his vision/work for Balenciaga is as such. This fantastic tee is a perfect example of that statement.
This black tee looks like an ordinary black tee but if you look closely, you’ll see that it’s so much more than just an ordinary tee! The two button fastening detail is a hit of cool – wear it exposed to further show off the contrast and the quiet, refined detail.

Season after season, design houses take their iconic classic pieces and reinterpret them by adding/removing studs, zippers, compartments etc. For this season, Balenciaga decided to make a gorgeous, envious travel trolley.
I have never been one to believe in spending too much for a luggage. What’s the point? It gets tossed, thrown, manhandled all the time. Of course, it’s a different story if you only hand carry which is something you would if you have one of this.

Nicolas Ghesquiere is my favorite designer, hands down. I remember my first Balenciaga piece. It was a blue dress shirt with white stripes and contrast cuffs and collar – it was a dream and when I saw it hanging at Barneys, I knew I had have it and I did. I was amazed at the fit and it was a sartorial epiphany – I finally found a designer that made clothes that fit me. I followed his collection seasons after seasons and I never fail to be awed by his genius.
It’s like this gorgeous coat. In wool and grey – perfect for fall. But that’s not it – the asymmetric detail took my breath away (for a split second)

I travel quite a bit and I used to travel much more. Zipping from country to country; only heading home to repack my luggage. When I have some time in the airports, I think about how I would like to live for a short period of time in the days where people dressed up to fly. Where flying was something worth dressing up for. I would very much like that.
I got that thought after seeing numerous track suits, flip flops and asses that just don’t make the grade to be termed ‘juicy’. I know that period will never come again but I can try. And this gorgeous bag will be a perfect piece to accompany me on my quest.

I am very much of a Balenciaga boy. I love Nicolas Ghesquiere’s vision and his play with fabric. His abiltity to make edgy pieces transcend trends is something I appreciate all the time. Season after season, I anticipate with baited breath at just what he might come up with next.
That said, this leather wallet is hitting all the right spots for me. I am loving the patent and grain leather contrast. It gives a stylish, sleek polish that will look right in any modern wardrobe.
