A big focus this season is on asymmetric details, mostly in the form of plackets and zips. Personally, I am so on the asymmetric detail bandwagon – not only does it provide a breath of fresh air, it also looks current, modern and yet far from faddish.
These qualities are perfectly manifested in this asymmetrical zip jacket. The asymmetrical zip is the obvious punch-detail here but it is greatly supported by other quieter details. Like the collar flap that gives a bold hit of sleekness that I can’t get enough of -It further accentuates the asymmetrical zip detail.
The flap pockets give this piece a dose of dressy-ness that again, is another appreciated detail. The visible detailing on the back

I have a thing for skulls and studs. And I am always drawn to pieces that try to incorporate the tough edge of these two details. Some might fall and fail while others do succeed.
Like this cool brogues from Alexander McQueen – he who brought skulls into the spotlight. The classic brogue design is enhanced with very cool skull motifs that not only give this a edgier feel but also makes this stand out in a very good way.
Imagine wearing a suit with these rocking pair. The skulls are subtle and quiet; only those who bother to look will see them and that quality is something I really appreciate.
The perforations add detail and only serve to compliment …

Skulls are just something I cannot get enough of. Skulls and studs especially. When done right, they can make such a sartorial statement that would linger in your thoughts for days and days. At least they do in mine.
There is just something about skulls that when used to edge up an outfit gives a punch that won’t go unnoticed. Which is why I am thrilled by this pair of cufflinks. The silver metal skulls will instantly add a hit of hardness that in distinctly individualistic.
I would wear this with a tuxedo or suit – injecting an air of doom that contrasts against the formal feel of a black-tie ensemble. A contrast that well, has my name written all

I love skulls and I really dig what Alexander McQueen has done with this iconic symbol of evil. I believe it’s all contextual – it’s evil in a horror movie, it’s cool on a tee on the back of a hipster, it means business on a biker’s leather jacket and it’s kick ass when it’s on your wrist.
This skull bracelet looks nothing like the self-made one that cannibal-tribe priests wear in movies and that is a great thing. The sleek polish of the individual skulls on this bracelet courtesy of the enamel coated brass gives off a feel of edginess that is constrained and yet to-the-point.
The skulls are small enough to not be in your face but big

When I was younger, I, like most kids associated skulls with death and evil. TV, movies, books all helped to fuel that. But now, skulls take on a whole different meaning. They are edgy and a sure-fire way to add some serious punch to any outfit.
This signet ring will help accomplish that. The pop-up skull is menacing and kick-ass like something
Skeletor would wear (I love He-Man when I was younger and I still do). I am not a big jewelery person but if I had to wear something, it would be a piece like this.
This is made small and to be worn on your last finger. If you have skinny, slim fingers, you can also wear this on any

I have a thing for skulls and edgier pieces. The trick is to let an edgy piece do most of the talking and keeping everything else simple. When Alexander McQueen first came out with his range of skulls, I was hooked and sold. Season after season, he played with his trademark skull motif and this season he hit it right on the spot! At least my spot.
This pin head skull tee has my name written all over it. I would wear this everyday to lunch, to dinner, to brunch. With pants, shorts, jeans. It’s an instantly eye-catching piece that warrants every bit of attention it gets.
There is something organic, pure and visceral about a human skull (after all,

It is not a secret that not every piece that is shown on the runways make it to the stores. Some add to the collective vision of the runway show without being actual pieces that non-models can actually (or want to) carry off. There is also the factor of cost – most consumers would very much prefer mileage out of their ready-to-wear pieces; the more the better.
Which is why I am surprised that this apron got made. I understand the Alexander McQueen envelope-pushing vision – from human skulls on t-shirts to lampshades at hats. But an apron? Seriously? Well, I guess it is seriously after since it is sold at Barneys at a whopping US$2335.
The price tag is

I am on the hunt for tuxedo jackets and more formal wear in general – no so much shirts because I don’t need new ones but more outerwear that I can use both ways – for important nights and to dress up an otherwise casual outfit.
I am really drawn to this well cut piece. It is simple, clean and yet so sleek – it’s just what I want. I like the satin lapels and how they are slim – it gives a modern siluhette which is what I am looking for.
This two button blazer is definitely on my list and would be perfect for a night event or a date. But I would probably use this more to

On really lazy days or days when it’s super hard to get out of bed, I don’t feel like putting on much effort so I throw a tee shirt, jeans and old sneakers on and head out the house. Sometimes, I do need my tee shirts to speak for me – something easy to throw on without any effort at all and without me needing to fuss over it.
This drape collar tee would fit the bill. The drape collar is the obvious detail here which speaks volume and shows off the stripes on this stylish tee. I like how it also shows constrain – drape collars are not new but some designers lose control and give too much fabric

Going to the gym is part of my daily routine. I don’t go everyday but I go most everyday and I wear a comfortable tee, gym shorts and my trusty Nikes. And I really don’t have anyone to impress at my gym since I go to the one at my apartment complex and everyone is either too young, married with kids or too old. So really, you know, it’s not as if I need to put in any effort in that regard.
I don’t jog since I am always on the elliptical machine (it’s great – better for your knees than the treadmill) so it doesn’t matter how much cushion my gym shoes provide or how light they are. If you’re like
