It only takes one detail for a piece to stand out. Minimal and yet effective. This khaki wallet with its elastic strap fulfills all the minimalistic requirements that a wallet should possess.

The internal card slots ensure sufficient room for your daily cards and the subtle logo stamp on the inside is quiet and confident.

The elastic strap closure provides an alternative way keep your wallet sealed. One that makes this piece stand out with a refined twist.

Being organized is something that can be taught or cultivated - in some. But for me, well, I try to be as organized as possible. At the end of the day, as long as I can find what I want, it doesn't matter how it's placed or how in-lined it is with the rest of my furniture. Which explains why I throw everything in my laptop bag when traveling.

And that also explains my inability to find what I need when I need it. Like when there are 25 annoyed people behind the immigration counter waiting for me to find my visitor form. With a passport wallet like this here, I can stop being annoying and flustered (so uncool).

This handy wallet holds your passport, all your cards, various currencies and boarding passes. Its black exterior is classic and like a good frequent flyer program, will give you mileage for years to come.

I am on the hunt for a new wallet but I am free-balling right here because I don't have a definite idea of what I want. It's the kind of thing that I will just know once I see it.

I came across this piece and I was drawn to its clean lines and slim structure. The simplicity of the design gives this wallet a feel of minimalism that is very appealing. The outer pocket provides both form and function - providing just the right external detail.

The interior pockets allows for card organization ad provides ample space for all your needs. The zip pocket makes it easy to hold notes and coins so you really can have it all. The best thing is, it's on sale!

Raf Simons Mirror Wallet

A good friend of mine gave me a cool pocket mirror a couple of months ago because I mentioned sometime down the line that I needed a pocket mirror - one that is not Hello-Kitty influenced and one that does not look like I can use it to powder my nose. The one shae gave me was razor thin, silver and masculine (for a lack of a better word).

You never know the situations you find/get yourself in. You can be on your way to a meeting or a date and what do you do when you want to check your teeth for any stucked food particle? Finding a bathroom when you're out and about running errands and meeting people isn't the most convenient thing to do.

With this wallet, you can store your money and check your teeth at the same time. I like how the patent sheen of this piece syncs with the shard of mirror attached. It's not a big regular mirror but a strategically cut piece that adds coolness to this sleek wallet.

It rids the need to carry around an extra item and the coin purse will serve those who need a place for their change well. Functional and considerate - that's always good in my book.

I travel quite often - monthly to be specific and dashing through airports, hotels and apartments can be more fun if I have my things in order. I throw them all in my trusty laptop bag and I've had it for years and it's been everywhere with me. So it's always stuffed and I am always digging through it which isn't very productive if the customs officer is tapping his knuckles on the immigration desk.

This long wallet will come in handy. I can store my cards, cash, flight printouts, coupons etc. I love the vintage strap elastic closure. It reminds of those notebooks back in the day where they were tied together.

The glazed sheen of this wallet adds to the charm of this piece and it's one of those leather pieces that will look better with age. It's spacious enough to allow you to chuck your passport in which makes this even more useful.

Porte Monnaie Bow Tie Wallet
Porte Monnaie Bow Tie Wallet detail
I am not good with white accessories and I have always envied those who could maintain their white pieces - be it bags, pouches, wallets always so pristine and white. I've always wondered their secret but maybe it's just basically being super careful which I can never be; no matter how hard I try.

That said, I know a few people who would be able to carry off this ultra cool, art inspired wallet. Like its name suggests, the front looks like a bow tie but when you flip it open, it reveals card slots and an origami-like square to store your notes.

This is ingenious and surprising. It might not be the most convenient wallet but then again, don't we all 'sacrifice' convenience and ease for something that looks good. I've been there and I know I am not alone.

This conversation starter will get curious looks and then some. And if you happen to be one of those people who can keep white pieces pristine then this is for you.

Prada Vitello Metal Old Billfold
Prada Vitello Metal Old Billfold details
I know I have mentioned my love for studs a bunch of times here. That doesn't mean I jump on any studded item. Prada's upcoming Fall collection is a centerfold for studs and I applaud the vision and the direction the design house is going in but there are bound to be a few hit and misses. Take this wallet for example.

I love studs but this is just an overkill. It's too much of a good thing and it doesn't look stylish or forward at all. In fact, it reminds me of what a cowboy in the mid-west would carry. It looks tacky and so out of sync with the aesthetic that it is trying to portray.

And what is up with the Prada label at the right bottom of the wallet? It stands out but not in a good way. Showy yet without much substance. And really, honestly, it is pieces like these that the counterfeiters will produce in large quantities. Expect to see a replica of this on the streets of Bangkok, Kuta, Shanghai, Jakarta in 5,4,3,2,1.........

Martin Margiela Small Discoball Wallet

Martin Margiela Small Discoball Wallet
I love the 80s - especially the music and occasionally the experimental dress sense. What I think of the 80s, I think of disco-balls and shiny, shimmery objects. I know here at Style Flavors, I am always talking about classic pieces and ones that will give you plenty of mileage years and years after you bought them.

But I am also about fun and this wallet is pure fun. It could go both way - this disco influenced subject but in the hands of Maison Martin Margiela, you get a functional, eye-catching and relevant piece. A lot of disco pieces go down the path of kitschy but this isn't one of them.

I like the small individual squares of plastic - they give just the right amount of shimmer without over-killing it. The useful snap button closure is great too - helps keep the flaps of the wallet together so you can better appreciate the fun detail on this wallet.

Available in both large and small versions - US$345.96 and US$296.30 respectively at Oki-Ni.

J. Fold Reverb Wallet

J. Fold Reverb Wallet inside J. Fold Reverb Wallet detailI love lime green; I've found that it always spoke to me in one way or another. It is bright, eye catching, uncommon with a touch of loudness. Back when I was in junior high, I had a lime green money case. The Acrylic kind that you sling around your neck. I loved it and used it until it broke.

I haven't seen a lime green case like that ever since but this wallet caught my eye with its eye-popping lime green interior. The tiny oval, uniform cutouts reveal the bright interior giving this wallet both a hit of detail and color at the same time. It lends a modern edge to this leather piece.

The perforations on the middle interior add to the overall detail while the 8 card slots ensure ample space for all your essentials. I like how fresh this looks and its inexpensive price is a hit of fresh air too.

Obey Hair of the Sheik Wallet Obey Hair of the Sheik Wallet internal Obey Hair of the Sheik Wallet externalHere at Style Flavors, we believe in having our cake and eating it too. We especially like pieces that have form, function and personality. Like this unique wallet from Obey.

The compact size means this fits into any shorts/pants pocket which is important because you do want to take this almost everywhere. The complimentary bottle opener will be much appreciated by anyone who swears by his 6-pack. The guitar pick holder provides a convenient storage for if you decide to have an impromptu campfire sing-along session.

I really like the belted button clasp that goes in and over the bottle opener; an ingenious way to play with detail and incorporate a bottle opener into a wallet. The treated leather gives this wallet a tough edge that highlights the the rock and roll vibe of this piece.

All for a very un-rock and roll price of US$57. Get this at Tobi.

Balenciaga Leather Patent Bi-Fold Wallet

I am very much of a Balenciaga boy. I love Nicolas Ghesquiere's vision and his play with fabric. His abiltity to make edgy pieces transcend trends is something I appreciate all the time. Season after season, I anticipate with baited breath at just what he might come up with next.

That said, this leather wallet is hitting all the right spots for me. I am loving the patent and grain leather contrast. It gives a stylish, sleek polish that will look right in any modern wardrobe. With a subtle logo stamped in front, this bi-fold wallet lets its detail do all the talking and I am listening.

The snap flap pocket ensures ample room for your change and I am sure some of you would appreciate this and its great price tag!

Bottega Veneta Perforated Leather Wallet
Bottega Veneta Perforated Leather Wallet detail
I like it when designers push the envelope further and take iconic symbols of their labels and put a fresh spin on it all while maintaining the integrity and giving it the respect it deserves. Take this wallet from Bottega Veneta for example.

I am digging the perforated version of the classic Bottega Veneta weave - a modern take that is a breath of cool. It still looks and feels like a Bottega - soft, supple leather with the understated ubiquitous weave. Look up close and you can see how even a simple detail, like perforations, can provide a striking effect.

This will fit seamlessly into your everyday life and would make for a good companion for years and years to come. If I were in the market for a wallet, this would be it and this would also be a great time to take advantage of the weak pound.

Dior Homme Bi-fold Coin Pocket Wallet Dior Homme Bi-fold Coin Pocket Wallet pocket Dior Homme Bi-fold Coin Pocket Wallet slotsI just had a thought and I realized that I haven't had a wallet with a coin pocket in years. I had those Velcro sports wallet that allowed more than a handful of coins to be stored in middle school and I thought they were so cool and if carried them around, I would be cool too. I have evolved past those Velcro wallets and gone more in the direction of this coin pocket piece from Dior.

The striped, polished leather adds a slight sheen that will complement any modern wardrobe while the coin pocket provides storage space for change (no more rummaging through your bag or pockets when at the vending machine) and small essential items like your keys.

With 9 card slots, billfold, 2 slip pockets and ID window; this will give you ample room for all your daily needs. I really like the subtle logo that goes in sync with this sleek piece; no loud ostentatious labeling; just a stylish piece that speaks for itself.

Balenciaga Raised Pyramid Bill Fold Balenciaga Raised Pyramid Bill Fold inside Balenciaga Raised Pyramid Bill Fold detailScience fiction is no longer just for fan boys/girls anymore. Its influence can be seen in the collections of Maison Martin Margiela, Raf Simmons and Balenciaga. I am always thrilled by futurism in fashion; especially if they are wearable and practical.

This wallet from Balenciaga is both. With 3 credit card slots and a coin compartment, you will have the required necessary space. The slant at the end of each card slot is the kind of detail I have come to love and expect from Balenciaga; subtle and useful.

The cool raised pyramid studs add detail and texture that will garner interest from random strangers and your peers. The hardy leather ensures durability and mileage.

Available in 3 colors - black, beige and white; but my vote is the black or the beige. The white runs the risks of discoloration which I hope in the future would be something that none of us have to worry about.

Martin Margiela Two Fold Antiqued Long Wallet Martin Margiela Two Fold Antiqued Long Wallet sideThere are certain things that look better beaten up and carried with a 'devil-may-care' attitude. Like Converse Chucks and combat boots for example. You can also add this wallet to the list.

I was thinking about wallet replacement and doing my usual round of work when I came across this. I am still very much into grey and this distressed leather (with deliberate dirt stains and smudge) piece gives off its very own cool, individualistic vibe. The zip coin compartment makes for handy access to your loose change or spare key.

What I like best is how compact it looks and the fact that you don't have to worry about dirtying this because that will only add to the charm of this wallet.

Maison Martin Margiela Snap Wallet Open Maison Martin Margiela Snap Wallet closed

Unique pieces that will stand the test of time and still remain edgy are hard to come by. But this wallet from Maison Martin Margiela will do both. This post is for one of my oldest and closest pal, Bryan.

Bryan, I think this could be the wallet for you! Its got cool gold metal stud details that hold the two flaps together. It might take some time to get used to having snap open and close whenever you need to pay for something but I think the design would worth it.

With fine top-stitching and cracked leather, this would look better with age. And helping get a bang for your buck is what friends do for each other!

Paul Smith Multistripe Credit Card Case Paul Smith Multistripe Credit Card Case 1Paul Smith's iconic strips always put a smile on my face. They are fun, funky and so distinguishable. As much of a fan as I am, I have to say that having/wearing those strips in small doses is best because like Burberry's plaid, one can run into the risk of overkill.

This handy wallet is a perfect dose for those in need of their Paul Smith's stripes. It's got 8 credit card slots so you'll be spoiled for choice (I fit more than 8 cards in mine; you'll be surprised how much this hold). A single billfold slot hold your daily cash and receipts. At 3"W X 4½"H, this is longer but thinner than your traditional wallet and is great if you're looking for a different sized carryall wallet.

The purple lining inside the billfold and the 2 inner credit card slot adds a personal hit of playfulness that is symbolic with Paul Smith's design. The stripes do however lose their vibrancy especially when placed in dark denim. But if you take care of it; it'll last you a while. I know mine did!

Marni Note-Clip Double Fold Wallet Marni Note-Clip Double Fold Wallet 1This stylish small wallet from Marni is perfect for those who don't want to deal with the bulkiness of a traditional wallet or the inconvenience of not having slot for credit cards with money clips.

This soft nappa calf leather wallet looks like a double fold wallet but when you flip it open, you'll find a note clip (so if you're used to storing your greens with a clip, you don't have to get used to something new). On the outside, there are 3 credit card inserts so you can rest easy and charge it all when spreeing at the Balenciaga boutique.

I am also loving the deep green shade of the leather. It is just the right combination of brown and green that will go with both your work and play attire.
