Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Body Lotion
I don't have the greatest skin and I sleep with the AC on most every night of the year so moisturizing is a must for me. I shudder to think of the state of my skin if I didn't moisturize it daily.

It so happened I ran out of night body moisturizer (I use a separate one for the day; a lighter one with UV protection). I need something rich and moisturizing enough to combat the drying effects of the constant hours spent in an air-conditioned room. I saw this at the store and grabbed a bottle.

Cocoa butter is one of the best friends your skin can have. And this lotion from Vaseline contains that and glycerin to lock and seal in moisture. My skin felt smoother and softer with a healthy glow that didn't go unnoticed. I like how it's rich but not greasy and how it absorbs quickly into my skin.

The light smell of the cocoa butter is pleasant and of course, there are many other cocoa butter lotions that smell better or stronger but for the great price and the good looking skin I got from using this, I'm not about to complain.

Armani Exchange Hammered Leather Messenger Bag
Armani Exchange Hammered Leather Messenger Bag details
I enjoy people watching especially in Europe where individuals dress like individuals and it all feels organic. There is something to be said about a well-dressed man on his way to work: crisp shirt, tie and pants combo. Perfect work outfit; if not the standard one. The quickest way to kill that is with a backpack.

Seriously, leave the backpacks for camping trips or excursions and instead go for a messenger bag to store your daily essentials. This black 100% leather piece will take you through the 9 to 5 grind with an unassuming, utilitarian air.

The hammered leather adds a worn-out quality that not only is appealing but rather charming. The simple buckles make for easy access to your things and the shoulder strap makes life so much easier when you need both your hands.

I try to go the gym as often as I can. Everytime I am at the gym, I look on in curiosity as people walk in with their cellphones, wallets, keys and ipods. And as they gather up each accessory when moving from one station to another. It seems like a lot of work to me, not to mention cumbersome to have to look out for each item while you lose calories. Now, a watch on the other hand, is a different story.

Time is important and a watch stays with you as you move, so hassle free. I've seen people working out with their Rolexes and Cartiers - I cringe for them at the thought of accidental scratches and cracks. Which is why I think this white silicon stretch watch would be great for the gym.

You throw it on and go about your workout with the greatest of ease. It's wallet-loving price makes this a no-brainer if you are looking for something to wear on your daily runs or workouts. No fuss, no worries, no need for unnecessary cautiousness - and beside having a toned body, who doesn't want that?

I do my Christmas/birthday shopping all year round - throughout the year, if I see something perfect/complimentary for someone on my list, I'll get it and keep it for the special day. So whenever I shop for myself, I am also looking out for the people in my life.

You know the saying ''It's the thought that matters'' and depending on who the giver is and the gift in question, the saying holds a lot of truth. For all other times, it's bullshit (for everyone who's gotten a jigsaw puzzle on Christmas/birthday when they were 9; you know what I am talking about).

But again, the gift in question is important and even though it might not cost much, it can still look like it's worth more than its price tag. So I was pleasantly surprised when I got to know about LuShae jewelery - they offer earrings, pendants and promise rings of various variety; in white gold and gold for example.

I got the Le Petite Pendant (US$124 US$64) for my mom because I just wanted to give her something just because. You don't need an occasion to give the women in your life a gift so if you're looking for a good place for gift ideas and very affordable jewelery, LuShae Jewelery is an ideal place to start.

The pendant arrived and again, I was surprised at its quality and natural sheen. It look more expensive than its price tag and who doesn't love that? It was simple and clean. Something she could wear with everything. Needless to say, my mom greatly appreciated it and she said it made her week. Now, that is something that really matters.
Standard Leather Trimmed Pea Coat

Standard Leather Trimmed Pea Coat details
This season, the pea coat is one piece that has seen a surge of resurgence and with good reason - they make for stylish, distinct outerwear. That said, in a sea of similar looking pieces, having one that stands out in a good way is a good way to start.

This faux leather trimmed coat stands out on its ow merits - subtle, cool detail. The leather trim that lines the exterior of this piece adds a dash of edge and chicness all at the same time. Its appeal lies in its unexpectedness - you don't see leather trimmed (faux or real) pea coats very often.

The classic shape and structure of the pea coat is retained while the shoulder epaulets gives this a sliver of military cool that compliments this piece splendidly.

Banana Republic Double-Knot Cufflinks
Sale seasons are one of my favorite times of the year. I don't know anyone who doesn't like for things to be on sale. It's a good feeling when the things you would not hesitate to pay full price for, go for cheaper now.

Like this pair of double knot cufflinks. A classic, simple piece that will serve you well and then some. The gunmetal finish adds a sleek polish that looks good paired with pieces for work or play.

Buy this for yourself or as a gift - either way, it won't disappoint. Get this Banana Republic Double-Knot Cufflinks for US$39.50 US$29.99 at Banana Republic
French Connection Crumpled Shirt
French Connection Crumpled Shirt back
I love the feel of a crumpled shirt and even more so, the look of a crumpled shirt. Don't get me wrong - I love a crisp shirt like I love In-N-Out burgers. But on casual lazy days, I love throwing on an un-ironed shirt. Actually, I hate ironing to the core and I really don't iron - I send all my clothes to the dry cleaners and have them press them for me. I hate ironing so much that I crush my shirts, crumple them and throw them on and just rock them whichever way I can.

This explains why this shirt will be perfect for me this weekend. The check print is so warm and classic - instantly adding a dose of weekend casual cool to any ensemble. The crumpled effect of this shirt just enhances the appeal of this piece - no ironing, no fussing, just wash and wear.

The best thing about this is it's on sale! Get this French Connection Crumpled Shirt for US$88 US$59.99 at French Connection.
Standard Issue by Hyden Yoo Military Sweater
Standard Issue by Hyden Yoo Military Sweater details
Military-inspired garbs appeal to me. It's the pockets, the structured feel, the masculine details that hit all the right sartorial spots. So imagine my excitement when I saw this fantastic piece by Standard Issue - a collaboration between New York designer Hyden Yoo and street favorite Urban Outfitters.

I've been a fan of Hyden Yoo's work for a while now and this is another must-have piece for me. The black long sleeve design makes for a chic companion this winter while the military details inject a dose of desirability. The woven flap pockets on the chest and the sides is my favorite part of this piece - there is an air of constructed cool that I just can't get enough of.

The woven epaulets and the buttoned cuffs add a sliver of toughness and dressy-ness that will be appreciated. The best thing about this is its super affordable price-tag, at US$58, this really is a splendid buy!

Avon Liiv Botanicals Vitalizing Eye Cream With SPF 15
I've been trying to actively incorporate SPF products into my grooming routine for the past couple of months. I started with SPF lip balms and then proceeded on to SPF eye creams. After doing some searching, I ended up purchasing a couple of this SPF-enriched eye cream.

Unlike a lot of SPF products, I was surprised to discover that this glides on smoothly and absorbs into the skin quickly. No white globs or the need to spend minutes blending this in. I also like how this moisturizes the area around my eyes effectively sans the usual greasy feel associated with SPF products.

So I was sold already and within a couple of weeks of daily usage, my dark circles became lighter and the area around my eye looked brighter and healthier. The tiny fine lines I have improved with this.

This is definitely a keeper for me and with SPF protection for my eyes, I don't have to worry about premature aging and damage caused from the sun. One less thing to think about and that is always a good thing.

Banana Republic Merino Wool Four-Button Half-Zip Sweater
Banana Republic Merino Wool Four-Button Half-Zip Sweater detail
There are days when I just want to throw on some thing simple and not think anymore about what I am wearing. Especially when I am hanging around the house and keeping warm in Fall.  I want something comfortable and yet still looks decent if I need to run out to the store to grab some things for dinner or cocktails.

This merino wool piece is more than just decent. The buttoned-up and zip combination is simple and fuss-free while the great shade of grey is fantastic for Fall. It's not just for Fall, wear this on the colder nights of the warmer months of the year with both jeans or shorts.

I like the pocket on the chest very much especially so that it's an hidden pocket, so to speak. The only giveaway is the button closure and flap. There is a seamless feel to this detail and I am really liking it.

Olay Total Effects Anti-Blemish Daily Cleanser
As you get older, your once oily teenage skin begins regulating more sebum and as a result, your skin looks less shiny with increasing dry spots. With less sebum comes lesser breakouts but zits still happen to the best of us.

Which is why an anti-aging and anti-zit cleanser will come in handy. I've gone through many tubs of this drugstore favorite and it does help keep skin free of breakouts without the dry, tight feeling that some anti-acne cleansers can leave.

With 2% Salicylic Acid, this gentle yet effective cleanser works to slough off dead skin cells and killing zit causing bacteria while smoothing and conditioning your skin. My skin looked brighter and clearer with regular use and the clean, fresh feel is something I always appreciate.

Kiss My Face Organics Lip Balm, SPF 15, Mint
I've been paying a lot of new concentrated attention on protecting every potion of my face with ample sun protection everyday ever since I had a skin analysis that didn't turn out so well (I had a D, from a scale of A - F!). The skin analysis said I needed more moisture and more sun protection.

So I had to rethink my skin regimen and incorporate new products. That meant new daily lip balms with SPF. This Kiss My Face lip balm has served me well for the past couple of weeks. It's all natural with organic oils, beeswax, herb extract to help seal in moisture and condition dry lips. My lips are allergic to Petrolatum and this doesn't contain any at all which helped seal the deal for me.

The thing is, this is not only Petrolatum-free but it also works. My lips were kept moist and hydrated and look better because of it. And the SPF 15 meant I got ample protection from the sun. The refreshing mint flavor courtesy of the peppermint oil is perfect for warm, humid days.

This has made its way onto my list of must-have daily products. And another fantastic thing about this is its price point. At US$3.49, you don't have an excuse to not take care of your lips.

The Brothers Bray & Co. Weekender
The Brothers Bray & Co. Weekender back
If I had a choice, I would much prefer to not have to travel to get a workout. It's just too much hassle and I am glad that I have a gym at my apartment complex so I can just head downstairs and work out. But when I was living in Seattle, I had to travel to the gym so I had a gym bag. It was an old duffel and it was falling apart from overuse.

Back then, I really could have used a sleek piece like this one. I am digging the clean lines and the attention to detail. The belted closure adds a dignified air to this weekender while the leather contrasts wonderfully with the canvas. The adjustable shoulder strap gives you the option to sling this over your shoulders; leaving your hands free to wipe yourself down and chill with a protein shake.

The curve of the flap on this adds a subtle stroke of detail that compliments while the lone zipper pocket at the back means an extra compartment for receipts, cards, keys, change etc. I am thinking this not just for the gym but also for sleepovers and short trips. The thing I dig most about this - is the awesome price.

At US$98, this really is a steal. Get The Brothers Bray And Co. Weekender at Urban Outfitters.

Nivea Visage Q10 Advanced Wrinkle Reducer Eye Creme SPF 4,
I've actively working on increasing my daily protection from the sun and the two products I haven't been paying much attention to is eye cream and lip balm. So I've been on the market looking for SPF-fortified eye cream and lip balm.

I found this the other week and I have been using this every morning. I like how easily it absorbs into the skin and how it moisturizes the area around my eye. Sometimes my eyes get dried out from all the air-conditioning and this helps to keep it moisturized.

After going through 2 tubes of this, my eyes looked smoother and less parched. I do not have any wrinkles yet but this helped improve the look of those fine lines around my eyes. The SPF 4 helps deal with the aging rays from the sun. And the fantastic price point makes this an excellent product to start with if you're looking to start using SPF-enriched eye creams.

Charles & 1/2 Fleece Moto Jacket With Hood chocolate
Asymmetrical zips have been big and present the past two seasons. And this light jacket with hood will get through the wetter and colder months before it's time to grab thicker coats.

I like the amount of detail on this motorcycle-inspired piece. With studs, zips and slanted pockets; this gives off an air of relaxed cool. I especially like the zip detail at the cuffs of this jacket. Shows the attention to detail.

I especially like how the front lapel opens up to a V and continues on its asymmetrical ways. Adds another degree of detail.

St. Ives Apricot Face Wash
I've got very oily skin and that leads to blackheads and the occasional zits. I used to have really bad teenage acne but since I am no longer a teenager, that problem is something I am over with. However, I break out easily (from stress, the environment, lack of sleep etc) and I usually look for bacteria killing ingredients in my cleanser to help prevent unsightly zits.

This wonderful cleanser has 2% Salicylic Acid which kills zit-casuing bacteria easily and quickly. The microbeads in this cleanser are gentle and super smoother aiding in the removal of daily dead skin cells while helping unclog pores and freeing blackheads.

My face never felt dried out from using this and the easy pump bottle (with tubs, I always have to squeeze out the last bit of cleanser and that is not fun at 4am after a night of partying). My skin feels really clean and smooth after each wash.

The best thing about this is the fantastic price point! At US$5.49, you don't have to spend a fortune at all to get good skin.

I am not a big fan of gold. I find it gaudy, old and too loud for my taste. Of course, it is also tacky when not done right. That said, I like this indigo and gold piece - there's something about this contrast that works and looks good street-wear wise.

Maybe because it doesn't look very gold but the two-tone colored plaited stitching works very well. It adds an edge and a sense of punk aesthetic to this zipper piece. The two chest pockets make for convenient storage slots.

I also like how the gold is visible from the inside by means of the folded-out collar - a hit of gold that only adds to the contrast and detail of this piece.

The thing with Fall is not only does it get colder, it also gets wetter. So it might not be cold enough for a full-on jacket so you turns to a knitted cardigan and all goes well but what happens when it drizzles? Well, this is why I am liking this hooded cardigan.

With a hood, you can shield yourself a little while you look for shelter or run the 3 minutes back home. Besides its practical uses, I am enjoying its asymmetrical detail in black which gives this a contrast and detail that is modern and clean.

I also like how the cuffs on the sleeves are black as well - adding to the overall simple yet eye-catching look. Functionality and style - I'm sold!

I love stripes. There's something about them that reminds me of better days like Summer vacations. Relaxed and yet still packed with punch.

I am very much in favor of this striped tee - I love its black and white contrast and the cute functional pocket on the right chest. I don't like searching for my hotel keys when I travel (haven't we all been there at one point or another?!) so having a chest pocket is great for someone like me. Just slip and go.

I also like how this is slouchy and yet so relaxed. Perfect with worn-in jeans or shorts and oh, I would wear this with tailored pressed pants to just dress it up. Possibilities and then some. And it's wallet friendly price means you don't really have to think twice!

So I still haven't gotten enough of plaid or flannel yet. And neither have design houses. I see new versions seasons after seasons. I guess I am not the only one not over them yet. They have this intrinsic relaxed quality that I really dig. Very laid-back and chilled.

This piece exudes all that while providing a nice differentiation to the sea of plaids. The large check lining on the cuffs provides a great contrast to the light gingham pattern. And I liked how they stopped there without going overboard in an attempt to differentiate and stand out.

Perfect for a lazy weekend or running errands. I would get this immediately if I didn't already have one that is so similar (minus the contrast larger check lining).

I have a thing for details and contrast. Especially when they take me by surprise. Which is what this so desirable piece did. I did think it was a basic cardigan with a black contrast piping beside the button pane - until I saw the strategic reds.

That did it for me - I knew I had to have this. The contrast between the red, black and dark slate grey is modern, stylish and yet relevant. I love the punch that the red gives - obvious yet wonderfully done. The black stripe just helps draw attention to the two pockets and the contrast buttons without needing to shout.

Wear this all year round - with jeans, shorts, pants. This is bound to get some compliments and the best thing is, you don't even need to break the bank!

I have miniature schnauzer many years ago that has this fantastic shade of salt-and-pepper fur. He was a great great loyal dog and I ended giving him away because it was a really bad time in my life (I was 13) and I just couldn't take care of it. It still haunts me to this day and I even dream about him occasionally - serves me right; he was a doll and I was an asshole.

I digress, this jacket has a similar salt-and-pepper shade and I am a huge fan of this shade (I love salt-and-pepper hair). You get my drift. I like this because its clean lines and simple detail translate well and makes this a good transitional piece. It can be worn in Fall and then in the cooler nights in Summer.

The chest pockets give you ample space to store your essentials which makes this useful for traveling. The black buttons on the placket contrast with the shade of grey and also the grey buttons on the chest pockets. I like the play on colors and contrast. Casual, easy and cool.

Natural Ice Medicated Lip Protectant / Sunscreen, SPF 30, Sport
Lips are often an overlooked portion of the face. Sure, you take care of your skin, your eyes, your neck but men, in general, don't really give a hoot about their lips. Everyone should - who likes to kiss and make out with someone with chapped, cracked lips?

My lips get dried out often so I always carry lip balm with me. In fact, I have lip balm everywhere in the house. Just in case. My lips get so dry that they crack, peel and then bleed which really is not comfortable or pleasant at all.

I like this SPF 30 formulated one. With vitamins A, D, E and Aloe Vera; this lip balm protects and moisturizes at the same time. I very much prefer water-resistant lip balms and this is a good one. So I don't have to reapply everytime I take a sip of water.

The best thing about this is its fantastic price point. At US$1.49, you really don't have an excuse to take care of your lips. Get the Natural Ice Medicated Lip Protectant / Sunscreen, SPF 30, Sport at Drugstore.com.

I like combo deals and package deals in general. Most of the time, it makes sense to buy in bulk and save. Every dollar adds up so being thrifty is something we always keep in mind while shopping and looking for deals.

I like this t-shirt pack and not only because it's a 2-pack combo but because I am digging the detail on this basic tee. I love the crumpled, crinkly effect and I think its perfect for the weekend and of course, also during the week (it all depends on what you do for a living). Nonchalant and effortless - I would wear this with a pair of crisp tailored pants for an alternative to denim.

Another good thing about this that unlike some combo tee-shirt packs that come with both desirable and undesirable colors - this comes in white and black; two colors you can't go wrong with.

Thrifty Flavors: Marine Layer Tees
Thrifty Flavors: Marine Layer Tees white tee
Thrifty Flavors: Marine Layer Tees white polo
Plain tee shirts are a staple and a wardrobe essential for me. I wear them all the time with everything - shorts, jeans, pants. I have been searching for the perfect tee-shirt for years now and really though perfection is so subjective; there are a few basic requisites that we can all agree on: softness, durability and fit.

Marine Layer tees have those qualities and a little more. Made from a blend of Pima Cotton and a bio-based natural fiber from Beech wood called Modal (which regenerates faster than regular cotton and requires less water to mill), the tees they offer are not only super soft; they are also green.

I just love the feel of them and what I love most is how durable they are - I am so over tee shirts that just get blown out at the neck with every wash; no matter how delicate I try to be. It's silly that I even have to try; it's a tee shirt - I should be able to live in it and it should withstand everyday motion, movement, activity and this also means getting thrown in the washing machine. I have tried stretching the fabric that Marine Layer tees are made from and they retain their shape even after all the stretching.

So what Marine Layer offers is in-between sizes (Smedium - small and medium, Marge - medium and large etc) which helps with the issue of finding the right fit and since it's not as stiff as pure cotton, it just drapes your body better. A motivation to work out more often perhaps?

They are so sure of their tees that each tee and polo is guaranteed for life. So that means you can return a tee for any reason at any time.

The basic white tee and the polo shirt are two pieces I will wear day after day. They are working on increasing their range and will be introducing more basic, plain tees in more colors - I want some in black and dark grey.

They are also working on international shipping and if you don't live in the US, drop them an email and they will try to make some special deliveries. And that's not all, Style Flavors' readers get a special 25% off with the checkout code 90210.

So you get fit, durability, softness, guarantee and a discount. I am sold and you all should know, I am not easy to please.

The plain white tee goes for US$29 (before discount) and the jersey polo for US$50 (before discount).

I've been looking for shorts to wear to the beach or hang by the pool with for a long time now. The ones I have seen or tried on so far are either too baggy or too loud. I want to have a peaceful weekend by my pool or a quiet week in Bali and I really don't need my swim wear to be louder than they should.

These shorts from Franks are hitting all the right spots. Franks is a brand born from the beach culture of Australia so they should know their stuff. Tailored from soft water resistant fabric for comfort; these are good for lounging in. Their unique quick-dry fibers make it easier and convenient to just chill out right after a dip/swim.

The shorts are a little on the small side. Small is approx 28 inches on the waist, Medium is 30-32 and Large 32-34.

The shorts have two side pockets and one Velcro back pocket - perfect for cash, hotel keys and credit cards when you're on the beach.

I am really liking the red and blue striped version. It's a fun piece that has just the right amount of color and detail. Nothing too in-your-face. It reminds me of a candy cane but way cuter and cooler.

The other version with its black floral inspired design remind of Japanese Blossoms before they bloom. From far, it looks like paint splatter which gives this an edginess that some will appreciate. The intricate design looks like something people would want to take a closer look at - which if they're the right individuals, would not be a bad thing at all.

I remember how I used to love to write my initials on every piece of paper I could get my young hands on. Needless to say, there were a lot of 'N's and I proclaimed that N was my favorite letter (it still is).

So imagine my surprise when I found that American Apparel has a tee with every alphabet. I was thrilled and immediately bought some. This is just fun; it's simple and it speaks for itself. Nothing loud, nothing too in-your-face. Just a tee-shirt with your favorite initial.

This would also make an awesome gift. I can already think of a few people I want to give this too. I will wear mine with everything and its friendly price tag just means I can get all of my favorite alphabets and wear them too.

I remember spending some weekends when I was younger at the country club. It was there that I saw men in khaki shorts and boat shoes. I thought that sockless shoes (I didn't know what they were called then) were spiffy. I still remember wishing I could grow up quicker just so I could have shoes like these.

I still think they are spiffy - like this pair. The dark navy shade is universal and the contrast outer stitching add detail without trying too hard. The best detail is the red and white leather panels on the back - they add a dose of unexpected color that is just right.

When I see this pair, I think yachts, Summer, alcohol, friends and sea breezes. And you don't have to break the bank for any of the above.

Which is why this stylish pair is Style Flavor's Thrifty Flavors this week. This classic aviator shades will get you through Summer and then some. The modern contrast of color is fresh and vibrant while being quiet enough for those days where you just don't need any extra attention.

I've always liked tartan prints. Especially on kilts. They add a certain charm and a preppy-ness that is quite endearing. That said, I believe they are best enjoyed in smaller doses.

Like on this wonderful zip bag for example. This would be great to have around - you can store your money, your passport, flight print-outs or use it as a dopp kit for sleep-overs or short trips.

The green, yellow, white, dark navy tartan print will be an easy way to play with detail. Use this to store coins, cards, whatever - organization is cool and so is this.

Summer is officially here and it's that time of the year where your sunglasses are perpetually on your face. I'll be spending some Summer time in Bali and checking out Laos. So I know I will need my shades.

Good shades are a must but just because a piece is expensive doesn't make it good. Full spectrum UV protection are a prerequisite and the rest is just up to individual preferences. That said, you can't go wrong with an aviator shape.

This pair is hitting all the right spots - I am liking its classic aviator shape and the visible external lens clips that look like small studs from far; lending an edgy vibe to this pair.

The all-black design is universal and will go with everything. Be it your work outfit, summer party outfit or weekend outfit. And the best thing about this? It's steal of a price - at US$35, this is a Thrifty Flavors worthy buy!

J. Fold Reverb Wallet

J. Fold Reverb Wallet inside J. Fold Reverb Wallet detailI love lime green; I've found that it always spoke to me in one way or another. It is bright, eye catching, uncommon with a touch of loudness. Back when I was in junior high, I had a lime green money case. The Acrylic kind that you sling around your neck. I loved it and used it until it broke.

I haven't seen a lime green case like that ever since but this wallet caught my eye with its eye-popping lime green interior. The tiny oval, uniform cutouts reveal the bright interior giving this wallet both a hit of detail and color at the same time. It lends a modern edge to this leather piece.

The perforations on the middle interior add to the overall detail while the 8 card slots ensure ample space for all your essentials. I like how fresh this looks and its inexpensive price is a hit of fresh air too.

Hyden Yoo Tan Agassi Shorts Hyden Yoo Tan Agassi Shorts detail Hyden Yoo Tan Agassi Shorts sideSometime last year, I started weaning myself off my jeans and decided to get the best out of the impending global warming - tanned legs. I reckon if there is something that I can benefit from the rise in global temperatures, it's having a healthy glow. It's better than nothing.

So I went to my tailor and had a bunch of shorts made in the same fabric as I would my pants. This is the only way I could think of that would ensure that my shorts were not too long, too loose, too baggy. That they looked just right. I always have a problem buying clothes off the rack so having someone that could solve the problem for me made things a whole lot easier.

My point is: Summer is here and temperatures will keep soaring; so get your shorts out. This sleek piece takes my vote. I love the universal tan color - wear this all year round with tees or shirts, sandals or sneakers alike.

What I like most are the details - especially the Gingham welt pocket at the waistband; an ingenious way to play with fabric and capture attention. It's small enough to be unique and even though it stands out, it fits into the whole vibe of this shorts just splendidly.

The double button feature at the waistband adds a dash of tailored detailed while the buttons on the back pockets ensure your belongings don't fall out that easy when you're at the beach or the backyard BBQ. And the best thing about this? It's less than US$100!

Oak Kontorsion Black Phase Tee Oak Kontorsion Black Phase Tee detail Oak Kontorsion Black Phase Tee backBlack is my favorite color and I know it's not technically a color - it's default but I reckon that since it has always been part of the color palette during all my Art classes, I think I can safely regard it as a color.

So that said, black tee shirts are one of my favorite things. They are easy, simple and so classic. And they are also great for clumsy individuals like myself - no visible spillage stains.

This cool tee from Kontorsion gets my vote for its unique design - the different phases of the moon. I don't know much about Astrology but I could certainly see this getting some attention and compliments. This lunar inspired tee will look cool with shorts, jeans and even pants.

Another neat little detail is the contrast white lining on this tee while the 100% Pima Cotton fabric ensures a super soft and comfortable tee that is great for all year round wear.

Thrifty Flavors: Just A Cheap Shirt Woven Shirt Just A Cheap Shirt Woven Shirt back Just A Cheap Shirt Woven Shirt detail I am on a new mission; a new mission to find casual shirts that I can easily throw on during chilled out weekends. Tees are great, of course but sometimes I like look of a crumpled shirt and the disheveled vibe that it brings with it.

This great piece from Just A Cheap Shirt is a worthy weekend staple. Aside from the affordable price tag and the brand name that suggests so, this shirt is full of details that everyone will appreciate.

The versatile light green plaid will go perfect with denim or shorts, both on weekdays and weekends. I am loving the lone snap detail on the button placket - an unexpected sliver of uniqueness. The contrast stitch on the chest pocket makes for a simple yet effective detail.

The blue contrast fabric on the cuffs make for a wonderful way to play with color. You simply roll up your sleeves and there you have another color that both stands out and syncs with the rest of this shirt.

The cute snap closure on the cuffs is a great finishing touch - and the tiny blue starfish-looking snap just rounds up this great buy. And at US$55, it's quite friendly on your wallet!

Thrifty Flavors: Tretorn T56 Mid Canvas Sneakers Thrifty Flavors: Tretorn T56 Mid Canvas Sneakers front Thrifty Flavors: Tretorn T56 Mid Canvas Sneakers detailI have always turned to Converse for most of my sneakers needs. I find them simple, classic and yet so on trend time and time again. And I wear them with everything from jeans, to shorts to tailored pants. That said, they do come in many different color variations; most of them too loud or garish for my tastes.

Hence, it's time to look outside my comfort zone a little to see what is out there. I found this while randomly surfing and I have to say that this pair of sneakers are growing on me.

Firstly, the navy shade reminds me of Summer, yachts and the sea. While normally I would like a contrast lace just for detail sake, I actually enjoy the fact that the same laces are of the same shade as the sneakers. They add a greater depth to the overall navy shade that will look great with both denim or tailored pants.

The crisp and fresh vibe from this pair of sneakers will look good all year round and at US$65, it's pretty affordable. Get this at Tobi.

Envirosax Greengrocer Bag black Thrifty Flavors: Envirosax Greengrocer Bag
Envirosax Greengrocer Bag oyster
I started bringing my own recyclable bags to the supermarket about 2 years ago when I experienced the signs of global warming like warm winters in Europe and erratic weather thunder storms in the dryest months in Asia. I am not a green advocate but I do try everyday to reduce my carbon footprint. Bringing my own recybable bags when running errands is a good way to start.

I am liking this aptly named greengrocer bag. It is made from polyester and is waterproof so you can use this all year around. It holds 2 full plastic bags of goods so I would have one for dry items and another one for wet items.

Not only is this friendly to the environment, this also looks good. With 5 different colors to choose from - licorice, oyster, apple, blueberry and avocado - this would make great gifts. I like how it has the option to be able to be rolled up. Throw it in the car or your everyday bag or take it with you when you travel for dirty laundry or as a beach bag.

The best thing about this is its great price - get this for US$8 at Tobi.

Artificial Flavor Moto Shirt buttons Artificial Flavor Moto Shirt Artificial Flavor Moto Shirt detail White shirts are a perennial must-have in every man's wardrobe. Versatile and sharp as they may be, I do get a bit more tense when I wear white because I am a natural klutz and I spill things and break things and they usually end up on me. So on days when I feel like being unencumbered, I look toward my black shirts.

I love black and a big part of it is because stains don't show and you can really get away with so much more. This cool shirt from Artificial Flavor will be a great piece for a night on the town or for that hot date. The details on this shirt are hitting all the right notes too. The cool snap button closure on the collar gives an futuristic vibe that goes in sync with the light stitching at the chest of the shirt and the left pocket.

The trim detail at the cuffs is quiet and so unassuming; only visible to those who take a closer look or those really close to you. I like intimacy in my details and this checks that box.

Just like how it checks the wallet-friendly box. Get this for US$79 at Tobi.

Obey Hair of the Sheik Wallet Obey Hair of the Sheik Wallet internal Obey Hair of the Sheik Wallet externalHere at Style Flavors, we believe in having our cake and eating it too. We especially like pieces that have form, function and personality. Like this unique wallet from Obey.

The compact size means this fits into any shorts/pants pocket which is important because you do want to take this almost everywhere. The complimentary bottle opener will be much appreciated by anyone who swears by his 6-pack. The guitar pick holder provides a convenient storage for if you decide to have an impromptu campfire sing-along session.

I really like the belted button clasp that goes in and over the bottle opener; an ingenious way to play with detail and incorporate a bottle opener into a wallet. The treated leather gives this wallet a tough edge that highlights the the rock and roll vibe of this piece.

All for a very un-rock and roll price of US$57. Get this at Tobi.

Cheap Monday Tapered Leg Chinos in Black Cheap Monday Tapered Leg Chinos in Black backChinos are a great alternative to jeans; they are light weight, versatile and look less casual than denim. This pair from Sweden's Cheap Monday will take you places - from dinner dates to the movies to the supermarket.

The slim straight leg will look good with sneakers, dress shoes, boots and chukkas. What I like most is how you really can dress this up or down depending on the occasion and your mood. The V at the back of the belt loop adds a dash of subtle detail that compliments this classic, simple pair while the 100% cotton fabric means you can wear this no matter the temperature.

There are certain periods of time when I live in jeans; I wear them everywhere save for the gym. With sneakers, flip flops and dress shoes. This pair of black oxfords will go splendidly with jeans.

This trendy pair with its tonal stitching provides the right amount of quiet detail while the classic 5 eyelet lace-up front means you pretty much can take this anywhere; to the restaurant, the club, the movies or the house party. The stacked wooden heel rounds up this leather pair.

Shades of Greige 'The Cain' Double Breasted Trench Coat Shades of Greige 'The Cain' Double Breasted Trench Coat back Shades of Greige 'The Cain' Double Breasted Trench Coat detailTrench coats are classic pieces that get reinvented and released every season; they do cost more than the average jacket- but keeping warm and staying dry don't have to cost you an arm, here for our Thrifty Flavors segment, we strive to find pieces that are stylish, functional and wallet-conscious.

This double breasted trench comes in a modern slim fit that will be appreciated. Besides the great price, I am loving the overall slick vibe from this trench. From the buttons to the slant side pockets to the chest pockets, this will serve you well for many seasons. The pockets and cuffs are secured with Velcro closure instead of the more expensive option of buttons/belt tabs but for the price, it's still a great buy.

Be it with jeans or pants, this trench will provide a polished silhouette that will always be appreciated. Available in 2 colors - my vote is for the stone one.

When done right, they are investment worthy pieces that will stand the test of time and trends. That said, they are best consumed in small doses.

This pair of brown loafers will be a wonderful addition to your Summer wardrobe; pair this with shorts for a laid back, European vibe or you can dress them up for a night on the town. The genuine snakeskin in dark brown shade is classic and will take you through all the way.

The fine stitching and side seams add a sliver of detail that is quiet and modest. The easy slip on and off makes this a perfect travel companion. Day or night, this versatile pair will serve you well.

They come in many varieties and colors but these 2 are my favorite picks. I am fan of lime green and this striking lime green and yellow sandwich strip adds a dose of detail that will brighten up dreary days.

They are also quite hardy; I've been everywhere with mine. And at US$22, you don't have to feel bad if they get too used.

Thrifty Flavors: Cheap Monday Beach Bag Thrifty Flavors: Cheap Monday Beach Bag grey

I won't call myself a very green person but I do try very hard consciously to reduce my carbon footprint - I don't take plastic bags, I use reusable containers, I prefer walking if I can to my destination and I take public transport.

For those days when I need to run errands or for those vacation days when I spend lots of time by the private villa pool or by the beach, this lightweight, essential bag will definitely come in handy.

This is not just a beach bag - you can take it anywhere. I would fold this and place it in my everyday bag so just in case, I need to grab some groceries or do a bit of random shopping, this would be a green alternative to plastic or paper bags - It's large enough for everyday errands. It is 100% Polyamide so you can throw this into the washing machine when it gets dirty and reuse and reuse.

This would also make a great gift - available in 4 colors (Grey, Black, Orange and Pink), this will be one tote that is friendly not only to your wallet but also to the environment.

In uncertain times comes the need for greater prudence and here at Style Flavors, we are all about that. Though it might take a while for us to ride through this recession, it's all good because being thrifty will never go out of style. And really at the end of the day, it's not how much your clothes cost, but how you put them together, carry them that matters and relate to people that matters.

These dark brown dress boots feature a 2 inch heel that might be a tad too ambitious for some of you. But we thought, what the heck, we love our limited-edition YSL 2.5 inch pair and really, 2 inches is not much at all.
