With the weather warming up (if it hasn't already), it's time to look forward to lighter clothing, sandals, shorts and frozen margaritas. Lighter clothing like this jersey piece.

This light henley gives off a totally relaxed vibe. The kind that Summer brings along. The heathered blue and white stripes has a literal coolness about it that makes it awesome insouciantly tucked into jeans or a pair of tailored shorts.

The strip of detail - button and snap placket with orange buttonhole further adds to the freshness while the grey twill tape compliments everything else wonderfully. The big loose pocket at the left end of this piece provides both form and function - throw a credit card and some cash for the quick trip to the store. Someone always need to do an ice-run...

Color-blocking is an easy, fail-safe way to add contrast that when done right, pretty much makes it tough to resist. Especially if it looks like this fantastic tee.

I am so tired of the humidity and the heat here in Singapore and what better way to be comfortable than to throw on an arresting tee. Seriously, I need a tee made that says 'Al Gore Was Right!'. It's heating up everywhere and it's really getting to me. I digress.

We're talking about this tee and the diagonal color blocking is fresh and current making this perfect to wear with jeans or dressed up with a pair of tailored pants. Simple and modern - I just can't stop looking at it for some reason (the dark slate grey is especially appealing). Which only means one thing - buy.

So I am in the midst of a wardrobe overhaul. I am giving clothes away and getting new ones. Tees are an essential for me and with the weather warming up so rapidly, they make the most comfortable sense.

Black tees are great to have - they go with everything and can be dressed up or down. Plus, they are klutz-resistant - stains don't show like they do on white, for example. Basics aside, you want your tees to do double duty - provide comfort/lightness while making a statement.

The white raindrop print provides a contrast that instantly distinguishes this tee. Simple and yet arresting, this is one to rock with jeans or tailored pants. Either way, it's a much more convenient way to experience rain. Not to mention, better looking.

The devil's in the details and one (of the many) reasons why I adore Nicolas Ghesquiere and his vision/work for Balenciaga is as such. This fantastic tee is a perfect example of that statement.

This black tee looks like an ordinary black tee but if you look closely, you'll see that it's so much more than just an ordinary tee! The two button fastening detail is a hit of cool - wear it exposed to further show off the contrast and the quiet, refined detail.

The micro-dots sewn into the white contrast fabric is a detail that one might miss but for those in the know - it's a thrilling representation of the genius of Nicolas Ghesquiere.

The simplicity of this coupled with the intimate detail makes this a must-have. I am so sold. Get this Balenciaga Button Detail T-Shirt for US$358.07 at Browns
Burberry Prorsum Cotton Top With Bondage Style StrapsBurberry Prorsum Cotton Top With Bondage Style Straps backBurberry Prorsum Cotton Top With Bondage Style Straps detailsI dig it when fashion takes a dive into the edgier realm of expression and ever since the Givenchy store in Paris ran out of my size in Fall 09's bondage leather shoes, I have been thinking about bondage-influenced pieces ever since.

This Burberry top with bondage straps is a great alternative to wearing bondage straps on your feet. The premise is simple: Cotton top with criss-cross straps that go around the front and the back to provide an adjustable strap-on feeling of being well, bounded, in a sexy, sartorial way.

The lightness of the fabric and the dark navy shade is great for all year round wear; on it own or over as a layer. Whenever you're in a mood for making a statement.

Alexander McQueen Patchwork Skull Top
Alexander McQueen Patchwork Skull Top details
I can go on and on about my love for Alexander McQueen's skulls. I have a thing for skulls and I especially like it when they are incorporated in my clothing. So season after season, the trademark of Mr McQueen is spun into varying versions.

I paused when I saw this interpretation. The skull motif is obvious and bold which is how it should be. But I don't feel anything for the patchwork detail. On closer inspection, the patchwork is varied and interesting. However, it has the ability to easily overwhelm.

You would need to be able to carry loud prints off and make them look cool. Any lesser and well, this tee would look like it's wearing you. Which is never good. So I am on the fence on this one - yay for the patchwork intricacy and boldness but nay for the fact that lesser beings, like myself, can't pull this off.

Alexander McQueen Skull Sketch Tee
With the weather warming up in the next couple of months, it's time to start thinking about warm weather clothes - shorts, sandals, tees. And this smashing skull tee is a good option to ring in the start of longer days and boat parties.

Every season sees a different variation of the iconic McQueen skull and this season, this hand sketched version is dark, organic and visceral. It's hard to look away and that's the beauty of this piece.

It speaks for itself so wear this with everything - during the day, night, to parties, dinners, margaritas sessions. Who knows - it might even look abstract after some tequila...

Shades of Greige 2-Layer Button Henley
Shades of Greige 2-Layer Button Henley details
My favorite part about layering is the display of slivers of colors - either contrast or complimentary. They easily help elevate an outfit to another stylish level with minimal fuss.

This fuss is lessened or eradicated if you have pieces like this 2-layer henley. What looks like a slate over grey two-piece top is in actuality a one-piece. I particularly dig the slate and grey combination - everyday cool colors that work all year round.

The extension of the 2-layer effect to the sleeves is a great touch - makes for a ultimate believable double layer look without the bulk of a extra layer. Which needless to say, will serve you well all year long!

I like dressy tees. I like them a lot. I find them fuss-free and easy, so they are great for days where I just don't want to be bothered with a shirt. Throw on a fancier tee with pants for a cool, polished look that is both relaxed and proper.

This contrast shoulder tee has all the right amounts of boldness and detail to stand out. The black paint drip design stops mid-way down the center of the tee giving this enough charm to get you through dinner parties and night on the town.

The contrast of black and white brings out the modern feel of this tee; making this one to wear with a blazer/pants combo.

Odyn Vovk Ov Curved Seam Tee details
There's something to be said about a white tee shirt. It's simple, basic and yet so individualistic. And so versatile too. You can wear it with everything and use it to inject some a cool, casual vibe to a dressy outfit. It's a blank canvas for expression - and it all depends on how you choose to style your outfit for the day.

This tee has extra length that gives you the option to play with layers. Wear it on its own or use it as a layering piece - the extra length will allow you to play with color and fabric. What I am loving most is the black detail on the collar - it gives a subtle dose of color that adds another dimension to this tee.

Wear it on its own or underneath another piece - either way, this tee will serve you well all year long. Get this Odyn Vovk Ov Curved Seam Tee for US$132 US$105.99 at Blackbird
Cmrtyz Mondo Shredder
Cmrtyz Mondo Shredder back
I've been having an issue of late - the ring on my key chain keeps getting stuck in the netted inside of the pocket of my gym shorts. It is extremely annoying because it takes 30 seconds or more to unhook the netting from the hook of the key ring and on days when I simply cannot deal, I just rip it off which explains the various holes in that particular pocket.

And really, it's not just gym shorts. Haven't you had times when pieces of your clothing get hooked onto something? I've had it with my jeans, my shirts, my tee shirts, my laces, my jackets, my blanket.Which is why I really don't get this tee.

Look at the back of this tee - I get the idea of creating a unique, one-of-a-kind design but paying 3 figures for a tee shirt only to have it get hooked/stuck onto some random 3M wall hook. I take it that maybe that's the point since the description of this tee says that it "gets better with each new hole, tear, rip and stain". So the designers are simply creating extra opportunities to obtain new holes, tears and rips.

But you know what's going to happen right when this tee is on your back? Some idiot (both young and/or adult) will try to pull the loose ends when you're not looking. It's like an open invitation for some wanker to un-artistically create new tears and holes. I have a Margiela tee that has a contrast band that goes from the pocket of the tee to across the shoulder and ends at the hem of the tee. When I wore it out to a party the last time - people were trying to stretch the band or pull it over my neck the whole entire night. And these were educated adults so I can't imagine the temptation this tee will bring.

And if no one bothers you then imagine getting out of a car or cab and having the tee get stuck in the door or a friend closing the car door before the trail of this tee fully leaves the car. It's like really asking for it!

Comme Des Garcons Play Green Heart Tee
Comme Des Garcons Play Green Heart Tee detail
I am a huge fan of the Comme Des Garcons Play line - I have a couple of styles in every color of hearts. I recently got a grey tee with a black heart and I was really surprised at how soft the cotton is. It's soft, flattering and so comfortable.

So when I saw this white one - I knew I wanted one. But I just wish that they had a black tee with a green heart. I am clumsy so a white one might not be the friendliest. Black, on the other hand would be perfect.

There's something about a colored mouth-less heart with eyes - it's simple and yet so arresting. There's no need for anything more. I just hope one day I would be able to custom-make my own Play tee. Pick my choice of color for tees and heart. How cool would that be?

French Connection Skull Tee
When I was in high school, I used to make my own tee shirts and I took a lot of pride in them. They were solid colored tees with slogans; smart-ass phrases I spend afternoons thinking up or lyrics from my favorite songs. But they were mostly angry - Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill was one record that got me through high school.

Which is why this tee made me stop in my tracks. It just speaks for itself - its message clear, in-your-face and so to-the-point. The white contrast of the message stands out effectively and the de-skinned skull adds a huge punch to the message.

It's staring you down and it's just perfect for those days where all you want to do is punch walls, see your shrink, kick and scream. But well, wearing this tee-shirt is just so much easier and less painful.

Surface To Air Philosophy T-Shirt
Surface To Air Philosophy T-Shirt detail
I am not big on philosophy. I ponder on phrases and essays on this topic when I come across them but they dissipate in my mind when the next pressing thing to obsess/fuss over enters my mind. I would love to meet someone who majors or majored in Philosophy because I don't know what you would do with a philosophy degree. So I've always been curious about that.

I might not be big on life's philosophy but I do like it on a tee shirt. Especially if it looks like this piece. The detail on this tee becomes apparent when you get closer and closer to the person wearing this. A fusion of philosophical texts in varying shades of colors that overlap each other make up the core of this tee.

The white tee provides the perfect backdrop to display this quirky detail. I would probably spend a bit of time trying to decipher what the text mean; which will help kill the time when I wait for my cab or the line at Starbucks to move.

Thrifty Flavors: French Connection Barbed Tee
I find myself buying tee shirts very often and I really wear my tees to death. So there is a constant cycle of replacing old or never-will-wear-again tee shirts with new ones. Here is a pair of tees that are below US$100 and will serve you well.

The barbed wire print on this black tee is subtle but provides a visible striped detail that adds enough punch to a jeans and sneakers outfit. I have a similar American Apparel piece that I wear, well, all the time and it really does help add a sliver of detail to an other wise plain ensemble.

I have a thing for skulls and edgier pieces. The trick is to let an edgy piece do most of the talking and keeping everything else simple. When Alexander McQueen first came out with his range of skulls, I was hooked and sold. Season after season, he played with his trademark skull motif and this season he hit it right on the spot! At least my spot.

This pin head skull tee has my name written all over it. I would wear this everyday to lunch, to dinner, to brunch. With pants, shorts, jeans. It's an instantly eye-catching piece that warrants every bit of attention it gets.

There is something organic, pure and visceral about a human skull (after all, we all have one) and that is captured on this kick-ass tee so wonderfully. Available in navy and grey.

I haven't been feeling like dressing up lately. Maybe it's just that I haven't been venturing out of the house that much or maybe I haven't been feeling very social lately. Whatever the reason, I live in my tee shirts and I am always on the lookout for unique ones.

I know what some of you might be thinking - since I don't leave the house, what's the point of having unique tee-shirts that no one is going to appreciate. Well, I don't dress for anyone. i dress for myself and I want to appreciate what clothe my body. Period.

Back to this - I am liking its unconventional button placket and its nonchalant yet detailed vibe. The wide boat neck gives this a slouchy, relaxed feel that is great for lazy and anti-social days.

The khaki grey color is quite flattering and will easily go with pants or denim and the 100% cotton means you can wear this on its own in the Summer or as a layering piece in Winter.

It's a lazy, calm Sunday and I really enjoy Sundays like this. There is nothing really better than to take it easy and lounge around in a tee. Which brings me to this particular Gap one.

I am digging the contrast hem of this piece. It adds detail without even trying and the contrast of grey and white (in a paler tone than usual grey) is perfect for lazy, easy days. I've always had a thing for pocket tees and the pocket on this one just further enhances its desirability.

On really lazy days or days when it's super hard to get out of bed, I don't feel like putting on much effort so I throw a tee shirt, jeans and old sneakers on and head out the house. Sometimes, I do need my tee shirts to speak for me - something easy to throw on without any effort at all and without me needing to fuss over it.

This drape collar tee would fit the bill. The drape collar is the obvious detail here which speaks volume and shows off the stripes on this stylish tee. I like how it also shows constrain - drape collars are not new but some designers lose control and give too much fabric which ends up looking clumpy and overdone.

This isn't one of those. This is done just right with a good amount of arresting detail to just run around town in while looking more dressed up than a regular tee.

Maison Martin Margiela M Tee
Diesel Black Gold Tybult White T-Shirt
KON Lines Tee
(From Top: Martin Margiela M Tee (Fall 08), Diesel Black Gold Tybult Tee, KON Lines Tee)

It is common knowledge that the ever-elusive Maison Margiela is a visionary and a trend-setter whose pieces, genius as they are, mostly befuddle casual observers. And unlike the works of other high-profile designers, Maison Margiela's works rarely trickle down to the mainstream high-street stores.

I was surfing around just the other day when I came across two pieces by Diesel Black Gold and KON; and immediately, they struck me as familiar - I know I have seen them somewhere before. After 3 seconds, it hit me that they look like the M Tee Maison Margiela released in the Fall of 2008.

Look at them - The Diesel piece has an uncanny resemblance but looking way inferior with its printed-paint tape design and the KON piece looking sleeker than the Diesel tee with red thrown in for good measure and contrast.

I don't stand for the blatant rip-off that high street stores often are guilty of but I also understand the difference of cost between the original source and the diluted, watered-down version. It's a personal choice of mine but I always go to the source because the quality, the workmanship and the crux of the idea resonates strongest from the source.

That said, I do applaud KON for taking an idea and putting their own spin on it - red contrast, similar sheen and more tape. In this case, you can actually have your cake and eat it too - have a thought-provoking design at a wallet-friendly price. So if you want a Margiela influenced piece, skin the cheap looking Diesel and go straight for the KON one (it's cheaper too!)

I like combo deals and package deals in general. Most of the time, it makes sense to buy in bulk and save. Every dollar adds up so being thrifty is something we always keep in mind while shopping and looking for deals.

I like this t-shirt pack and not only because it's a 2-pack combo but because I am digging the detail on this basic tee. I love the crumpled, crinkly effect and I think its perfect for the weekend and of course, also during the week (it all depends on what you do for a living). Nonchalant and effortless - I would wear this with a pair of crisp tailored pants for an alternative to denim.

Another good thing about this that unlike some combo tee-shirt packs that come with both desirable and undesirable colors - this comes in white and black; two colors you can't go wrong with.

Thrifty Flavors: Marine Layer Tees
Thrifty Flavors: Marine Layer Tees white tee
Thrifty Flavors: Marine Layer Tees white polo
Plain tee shirts are a staple and a wardrobe essential for me. I wear them all the time with everything - shorts, jeans, pants. I have been searching for the perfect tee-shirt for years now and really though perfection is so subjective; there are a few basic requisites that we can all agree on: softness, durability and fit.

Marine Layer tees have those qualities and a little more. Made from a blend of Pima Cotton and a bio-based natural fiber from Beech wood called Modal (which regenerates faster than regular cotton and requires less water to mill), the tees they offer are not only super soft; they are also green.

I just love the feel of them and what I love most is how durable they are - I am so over tee shirts that just get blown out at the neck with every wash; no matter how delicate I try to be. It's silly that I even have to try; it's a tee shirt - I should be able to live in it and it should withstand everyday motion, movement, activity and this also means getting thrown in the washing machine. I have tried stretching the fabric that Marine Layer tees are made from and they retain their shape even after all the stretching.

So what Marine Layer offers is in-between sizes (Smedium - small and medium, Marge - medium and large etc) which helps with the issue of finding the right fit and since it's not as stiff as pure cotton, it just drapes your body better. A motivation to work out more often perhaps?

They are so sure of their tees that each tee and polo is guaranteed for life. So that means you can return a tee for any reason at any time.

The basic white tee and the polo shirt are two pieces I will wear day after day. They are working on increasing their range and will be introducing more basic, plain tees in more colors - I want some in black and dark grey.

They are also working on international shipping and if you don't live in the US, drop them an email and they will try to make some special deliveries. And that's not all, Style Flavors' readers get a special 25% off with the checkout code 90210.

So you get fit, durability, softness, guarantee and a discount. I am sold and you all should know, I am not easy to please.

The plain white tee goes for US$29 (before discount) and the jersey polo for US$50 (before discount).

I remember how I used to love to write my initials on every piece of paper I could get my young hands on. Needless to say, there were a lot of 'N's and I proclaimed that N was my favorite letter (it still is).

So imagine my surprise when I found that American Apparel has a tee with every alphabet. I was thrilled and immediately bought some. This is just fun; it's simple and it speaks for itself. Nothing loud, nothing too in-your-face. Just a tee-shirt with your favorite initial.

This would also make an awesome gift. I can already think of a few people I want to give this too. I will wear mine with everything and its friendly price tag just means I can get all of my favorite alphabets and wear them too.

Julius Cut & Sew Black

Julius Cut & Sew Black abrasions
I love fashion and I spend a considerable amount of money yearly on my wardrobe. I remember the days when $500 for a pair of shoes and $75 for a tee shirt was considered ridiculous. You would be hard pressed to find that kind of price now. With most shoes above $750 and tee shirts in the 3 figure range, $500 for a pair of lace-ups would be considered a bargain today.

It was this Julius Cut & Sew tee that got me thinking - not so much the tee itself but rather its alarming asking price: US$350. Have we gotten so accustomed to hefty price tags that we no longer question anymore? And if so, how much is too much then?

I have paid much more that $350 for shoes, blazers, jeans and shirts. That's because I see the intrinsic value and the timeless designs of said pieces and I know that I will wear them for years and years and years to come.

But I draw the line at paying $350 for a mere tee shirt. This tee looks simple and it is pretty simple and on a closer inspection, you can see intentionally created holes and abrasions on the neckline, sleeves and hem. I get the whole distressed, grunge rock thing and in fact, I love that movement and its pent-up frustrated, angst-y garment manifestations. I know that I will outgrow said phase one day in the future and can I still rock this strategically destroyed tee when I am 35? I don't think so. And what would Kurt Cobain say if he knew how much this was?

This is far too much to pay for a tee-shirt that is neither silk nor cashmere. It's resin-coated cotton with a waxy feel - now that just sounds like it would give me a rash so how can anyone expect you and me to part with $350 for a piece of clothing that might just trigger skin allergies?

Rag And Bone Jersey Tee back
As you all probably know by now, I love double duty pieces - pieces that can hold and be used on their own while having a quality that allows them to be fused with other pieces.

Take this jersey tee, for example. This lightweight, casual tee gives off the perfect nonchalant vibe that would look splendid in Summer and Spring, no matter which continent you might be in. The crewneck button down style gives you the great option to leave this unbuttoned for a laid back, relaxed vibe. While the button cuffs gives the impression of a certain dressiness.

That said, this will also make a great layering piece. Layer this over a tee or a shirt and leave this unbuttoned for a cardigan-like effect. The blue indigo tone will look great all year round, dressed up or down. The cotton jersey fabric ensures a lightweight and soft tee that you can wear, no matter the weather.

I have a thing for studs and skulls. I don't know exactly when it started but when I was young, I was told that they represented death and evil. Now that I am older, I don't believe everything I hear. I have a skull, you have one and so does the next door neighbor you want to sleep with.

I just dig the vibe they give off. Mysterious, edgy and sometimes playful. Which explains why I am drawn to this tee. The simple rows of skulls over a black tee is something I can wear everyday. It also kinda looks like a fanboy tee. Like those video games in the past where you have rows of skulls on the top of your screen to represent power and hearts to represent life.

People might go, 'Why the skulls and why so many?' Well, I say 'Why not?' I like this so because you don't need a reason for everything and that itself makes this desirable.

When I was in high school, I used to make my own tee-shirts. I would have paints, blank tees and markers. Some didn't turn out so well but my favorite ones were the ones that were faded by the sun or scratched to look faded.

Which probably explains why I like this. The faded block detail is simple and yet arresting. This tee is made to be oversized which makes this perfect for layering. You can use it to add detail and a stream of muted, gradual grey. Wear this all year round; on it own during Summer and with multiple layers during Winter.

Plus, the nonchalant vibe from this tee is appealing to me right now at this point in time where I feel sleepy and far from bothered. And come to think of it, this is something I can fall asleep in...

That said, it will help if your tee shirt comes with its own unique sliver of detail that takes the work out of bothering to add detail or a personal stamp. I like the simple, easy double neckline detail. It speaks without needing to try too hard.

I remember when I was a kid, this hippie with long, braided hair used to be a friend of the family's. She was loud, vivacious and so full of stories and tricks. I used to be thrilled with her tales and amazed at just how much stuff she had whenever she came around.

What I remember most about her were her tie-dye outfits. True to her nature, she wore those tie-dye outfits religiously. So I've always associated tie-die outfits with fun and a little kooky-ness. When I was older, I knew I couldn't carry the whole tie-die hippie look - no matter how fun it looked.

But I could certainly carry off this dip-dyed tee. I am loving the overall contrast of this soft tee, with a white middle separating the two shades of grey. Poignant without overdoing it.

Wear this with denim or Bermudas, all year round for a casual, nonchalant look that is all yours. I like the tiny sliver of detail - the exposed seam down the center of the back. And like its inspired movement, this tee is 100% organic cotton.

It is quite tough to find tee shirts that can take you places, have interesting enough details and the right color shade. It's usually one or the other and it takes patience to get what you want sometimes. Haven't you been out looking for a particular product or clothing article and after hours and hours, still remain empty-handed?

I was recently tasked to help my BFF (private joke) find tee shirts because I am not the only with a tee shirt deficit in my wardrobe. He was quite specific - he wanted colors, good fit, durability and a price that won't make him think twice. I searched my usual joints to no avail so the search goes on.

I came across this during the search and even though this doesn't meet his criteria, I can see myself wearing this. Firstly, the simple white and grey stripped tee where the stripes are multi-directional makes this an easy choice for everyday wear.

What I like most is the black panel and the cute welt chest pocket. It's simple and yet interesting - nothing overdone, just contrast and an unexpected button detail. Now if only this came in blue...

This cool tee from Kontorsion gets my vote for its unique design - the different phases of the moon. I don't know much about Astrology but I could certainly see this getting some attention and compliments. This lunar inspired tee will look cool with shorts, jeans and even pants.

Another neat little detail is the contrast white lining on this tee while the 100% Pima Cotton fabric ensures a super soft and comfortable tee that is great for all year round wear.

Surface To Air Half NW T-Shirt detail
I am still knee deep in my quest for new tee-shirts. Summer is fast approaching and given the erratic weather so far, I could really use with some lighter clothing. Something easy and simple that I can throw on and wear with denim for easy days out.

Speaking of the weather, it's been so humid and hot where I am, which isn't usual for April/May. I can only point it to global warming. I should make a tee that says, 'Al Gore Was Right.' It would be perfect for those sticky, humid days.

Until I make my Al Gore tee shirt, I will settle for this great one. I am loving the fresh contrast between the white tee and the blue stripes. It has just the right amount of stripes - running through half the tee, both front and back. No overkill; just nicely done.

This sturdy tee will look right at home with bermudas, shorts and denim. I just think of outdoors, beaches, music and frozen margaritas when I look at this tee. And if a tee can conjure up such imagery for me, I am sold.

Rogan Future Poem Tee
Rogan Future Poem Tee details
I've been on the constant look-out these days for tees. I realized a couple of weeks ago that I have a shortage of tees. I was too focused on acquiring dress shirts that I forgot that I don't like to wear dress shirts on lazy weekends. So I had to reasses my wardrobe and shift my focus to t-shirts.

I am enjoying the graphic applique on this tee from Rogan. I love the black and white contrast and the light fade on certain alphabets - it gives a vintage feel that will look flawless with denim. The alphabets are supposed to make up future words to a poem - a fun detail that will be appreciated.

This is what would serve me well on dress down weekends. The black will give me a sense of ease because that means I don't have to constantly watch myself for fear of spillage.

Maison Martin Margiela Maison Martin Margiela

Maison Martin Margiela I've come to the conclusion that I need more tees; besides my regular American Apparel ones (which I love). Tees that are more dressed-up, unique and can hold their own in a social event or occasions one notch above casual.

This tee is calling out to me and I won't refuse. The stand-out factor is of course, the band of fabric that is connected to the patch pocket and runs through the back of the tee. It's not a in-your-face detail but a more layered and softer one and would, I can imagine, spark some curiosity.

There is also options in the way the band of fabric is slung - you can also have it wrap around the back for a relaxed hoop look. I appreicate the black option - I love black because I am a pretty clumsy person so with this, I don't have to think twice about food splatters or drink spills. The grey is stunning too and will provide an even greater contrast to the black band.

This is definitely going onto my Spring wishlist. Get the black version for US$245 at eLUXURY and the grey one at Aloha Rag.

Rochambeau Draped Jersey Tee & Belt Wrap Swim Shorts

Rochambeau Belt Wrap Swim Shorts Rochambeau Belt Wrap Swim Shorts back

Here at Style Flavors, we love checking out what up-and-coming designers are doing and the pieces they are creating. We got wind of Rochambeau's Spring 2009 Collection and we're digging these 2 pieces. Rochambeau is Egyptian for the popular game rock-paper-scissors. Which is very fitting because the 3 members met in 2007 at the Parsons senior thesis show, where that year's prestigious Golden Thimble winner Michael Venker met Joshua Cooper and Laurence Chandler. So like the traditional game, each of the three members brings their own individual strength to the table.

Joshua Cooper and Laurence Chandler take care of the business portion of the label while Michael Venker, Rochambeau's creative director, studied design at Parsons, and went on to intern at Marc Jacobs and Helmut Lang, and eventually worked at the Ermenegildo Zegna showroom. Through this time, he won the prestigious Golden Thimble award from Parsons and shortly thereafter was called one of the new young and upcoming designers to watch in Women's Wear Daily.

The draped jersey tee comes with an attached scarf that is versatile and flexible so you can play around with it and decide the best look for yourself. It's perfect for those lazy, causal days or a night on the town where you don't want to deal with a crumpled shirt. Wear this with jeans or pants, either way, it will look fresh and cool. Also available in black, white or cream. I need to get my hands on the black version.

The belt wrap swim shorts with its clean lines and unique front will certainly get you some attention. Think summer and all the weeks you will be spending in shorts so this would be a worthy investment. Despite it looking a tad complication, it is very easy to open the waist button. The zipper fly and the extra fabric gives enough to ensure using the restroom won't become a hassle.

Get the Jersey Tee for US$65 and the Swim Shorts for US$75 at the OAK store in New York. Unfortunately, you can't yet purchase them online, but give them a call at +1 212 677 1293 and ask them for their delivery options.

Surface To Air Colors T-shirt Surface To Air Colors T-shirt backSurface To Air is a Paris-based fashion house that features frequent collaborations with various members of the art scene to create one-of pieces. Often seen on the backs of art directors and members of the advertising world, this is one underground brand that is gaining heat.

This color-block tee with its contrast color panes of white and black and its blue/grey stripes is just perfect for those casual days. Its attention to detail can be seen from the contrasting colored stripes on the sleeves.

Black, white, grey, dark blue. This is great for those days when you can't make up your mind on which color you would most prefer to wear. The laid-back yet cool vibe from this tee will go seamlessly with denim.

Lanvin Spider TeeI've always wanted a tarantula for a pet ever since I was 8. I never gotten that wish fulfilled - they were just simply too difficult to find and I was too young to go venture into the black market alone to search for a spider.

That said, I like spiders - I think they are mysterious and quite cool. Needless to say, I am strangely drawn to this Lanvin tee and its spider motif.

The grey of the spider goes perfectly with the 100% cotton black tee. There is no label, no logo - just a kick-ass spider. Wear this with jeans and boots on the weekend or dress it up a level by layering it over a white shirt. Either way, this tee will speak for itself.

American Apparel Space Scape Jersey Short Sleeve Crew Neck T-ShirtI am a huge fan of American Apparel's soft, comfortable, fitting tees. I buy a bunch of them at one go and I wear them out like there is no tomorrow. I also take them everywhere and either wear them on their own or use them for a layered look.

I am digging this space scape jersey tee with its unique sci-fi, paint splatter design that will look good on its own or underneath a shorter top. The paint splatter will add a dash of detail and color to your overall layered look. And because it is soft and light, you don't have to worry about breaking out in sweat when you're selectively piling on your layers!

If you're build small, you will appreciate how most of their items come in XS. In fact, my American Apparel tees are probably the only items I don't need to send to my tailor to have them taken in.

Balenciaga Striped Long Sleeve T-ShirtBalenciaga Striped Long Sleeve T-Shirt

This striped long sleeve tee from Balenciaga features a boat neck which is not something you see often. But you can wear this tee on its own or wear it as an outer layer over a shirt or a polo. Either way, this tee with its trendy tape-like (seen on items from Dolce & Gabanna and Martin Margiela) stripes will be just right for fall. Get this for US$469.23 from Diabro.

Dior Homme Stitched Crew Neck Dior Homme Stitched Crew Neck

This simple yet classic tee shirt from Dior Homme features a neat cross-stitched seam that encircles the neck and sides of the tee, adding a stylish detail trail. Also available in Navy but my vote's for this in grey. Get this for US$330 at eLUXURY.

I am a huge fan of American Apparel. I love their everyday soft basic tees and the variety of sizes they accommodate. I need an XS and most brands do not make them in extra small sizes so stumbling on American Apparel a few years ago made my day. Since then, I have bought lots of basic solid colored tees from them because they fit well and feel good.

American Apparel Zigzag Tee 1American Apparel Zigzag Tee 2

This zig zag tee (like most every American Apparel tees) is great for layering or wearing it on its own. With a cute horizontal zig zag pattern, this tee will go far. Get this at American Apparel for US$22.

American Apparel 50/50 tee

I dig their 50-50 poly cotton blend tees, they fit slimmer and are longer than the other regular cotton tees from AA. Available in various colors, this range of tees will be perfect for summer! They are US$16 each.

If you are looking for slim fitting and body hugging tees, the tri-cotton range will be perfect. They run a little small so if you do want to wear them singularly, then go one size up. I bought XS and they are a tad tight and short to wear on their own but perfect for layering. So just something to take note of if you're interested. They go for US$20 each.

YSL Waistline T-Shirt 2YSL Waistline T-Shirt

I immediately smiled when I saw this tee. Check out this cute t-shirt off Yves Saint Laurent's Autumn/Winter 08 line. This fun t-shirt features a retro black and white slimming print ad with its own cut out coupon! :-) Get it for US$194.12 at Diabro.
