One thing I love about Fall and winter is the freedom to play with layers. I love layering and these are the only times in the year where I can really go all the way without melting. That said, the colder months of the year are also times where I see people just overdoing it without any constrains.
I see the need to keep oneself warm but it is never charming to look like a knit piƱata. Which is how you would look with this mess of a piece. I understand the need for colors during the dark, sombre months but this is just crossing the line.
Firstly, I have no idea where to look first. Do I look at the upper cow like patches or the middle trippy section or the lava lamp inspired effect at the end? It just confuses me and what I don't get is just why so many patterns? It certainly doesn't make a piece more worth its price neither does it reward style points. All it did was made me cringe.
Plus, this also looks like some patch sweater made with good intentions and all by a 5th grader gone wrong because there just was no direction given. Which is how one would look with this on - lost and confused.

A V-neck sweater is an essential piece is every man's wardrobe; a versatile option that can be dressed up or down, for work or play, all year around. It also makes for perfect layering.
I am digging this navy silk number- the soft pure silk will be a breeze to wear which means you can have this on with a light shirt or tee in the summer and as one of the multiple layers in the winter.
The slight sheer along with the classic contrast trims go flawlessly together providing a sleek silhouette that shows off itself. The dark navy shade is great for every season and will remaining viable for years and years to come.

V-neck sweaters are one of the essential items in a man's wardrobe. They can versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on your mood and the climate. Worn alone during the warmer months or layered during the colder months. Either way, they will work flawlessly into both your work and play wardrobe.
This simple piece is our steal for the week - this shade of grey will never go out of style and the modern trim fit compliments the clean lines of this sweater. The quiet yellow trim along the V-neck adds the right dose of fresh color while still remaining subtle.
All in all - a great buy! Get this at Macy's for US$95 US$69.99 at Macy's.

Graphic prints are usually best taken in small doses - like medication. Because the result of someone being too generous with said prints is something like this.
I am all up for floral prints or prints that are inspired by nature. But I don't know what to make out of this sweater. Is this supposed to resemble a skinny tree bark with a single leaf? If so then, why stop there? Why not add roots and the complimentary weeds?
The contrast black strips on the cuffs are a cute detail but the cuteness dies there. Not really the kind of effect you want in dreary winter.

Balenciaga's Spring 09 is filled with science fiction influences, from the choice of fabric to the space age colors. It looks like the milky way inspired range got a head start this Fall with this simple yet unique sweater.
This 100% wool piece will keep you warm in subtle style. Layer it or wear it on its own; either way, you will be turning heads with the mono-tone rubber sleeve dots.
I am digging the play and use of fabric; the cool rubber dots remind of those cartoons I used to watch where the characters would communicate with each other via a device on their wrist.
I've always wanted one of those but this sweater would just suffice more than sufficiently!

Staying warm during the winter months usually involves layers after layers. It is easy to look like a walking caricature of something you do not normally want to be associated with when done wrong. Hence, you want to keep it simple and yet stylish (keeping in mind the fit and colors that work for you).
This turtleneck sweater will not do you any justice. I don't understand why designers feel the need to complicate pieces. I will not be more drawn to an item just because there is an extra 3 rows of diamonds.
And plus, why would you want to look like a walking deck of cards? Playing and winning at the poker table is one thing. This is just an overkill and an outright display of too much enthusiasm. I'll pass, thanks.

V-neck sweaters make for great layering pieces all year round. During the Summer months, you can take this with you to the office or leave it in the car for when it gets chilly. For the Winter months, pair this with your favorite shirts.
The charcoal color provides an easy to match alternative to the usual black or white while the grey trim adds the right hint of color and detail. Its blend of cashmere, wool, nylon and rayon ensures softness while providing warmth.

Sometimes, I wonder why certain details are left unedited on otherwise decent pieces. Just like this one. I have no idea why there is one skid colored patch on the shoulder and on both elbows. What is the purpose of that? And if there is some intrinsic usage for said patches, can't it at least be of an appealing color? Is that too much to ask?
This is such a shame because this sweater sans the hideous patches is actually quite charming. There is a cute welt pocket with a contrasting button and a light box pattern that would hit the spot if you were feeling preppy.
What is the rational behind the windowpane patches? So many questions, so little answers.

Now, playing with colors is a great way to jazz up an outfit. One simple contrast can make or break the whole look. That being said, this sweater is a color-overkill.
With blue, brown and lilac, my eyes are saturated with colors and I have no idea which one to focus on first. Why kill it with three colors? Why not just make it with 2?
And that orange chest block is blinding. It's too bright and it looks like someone poured orange washing detergent onto a blue sponge. And why would anyone want to look like they could remove grease and skid-marks?

For those lazy Fall days when you don't feel like dressing up but still want to look presentable and stay warm, a simple, detailed sweater is an easy way to look dapper while maintaining a laid-back vibe.
This navy studded sweater from Dior Homme will provide just the right amount of style points. Pair this with your favorite pair of jeans and some boots/sneakers or lace-ups and you're set.
The stud detail on both side of the chest adds a dash of edge to this simple sweater. Just the right amount. To have this look like it was made just for you, take this to your tailor and have him/her take it in a little for a final result that is fitted and sleek.

Despite greenhouse effects and global warming, warm winters are still winters and that means keeping and staying warm with assistance. So you want to look sleek and structured and refined despite all your layers and not like a pudgy hip-hopper swimming in layers of wool.
You also do not want to look like a walking domino set. Which was my first thought when I saw this. This might be a traditional Nordic pattern and as much as I appreciate and respect tradition, I do not think this makes a stylish sweater.
In fact, it is just too much detail and I have no idea where to look first. And I don't care if it's a 'designer' piece because ugliness is ugliness and an ugly designer piece is just expensive visual assault.
If you're into Nordic patterns, you can fabric for only US$5-12 here. If you don't know how to knit or simply just don't have the time to, take the rest of the US$733 you would spend on this mess and hire someone to knit it for you. I bet you'll still have money to some salmon for dinner after!

I am a fan of colors and I believe men shouldn't be afraid of adding colors to their wardrobe. When done right, wearing just one other color can easily jazz up your whole outfit. That said, this is a prime example of over doing it.
Firstly, why would anyone need so many colors on one sweater? Not being able to make up your mind and deciding on a color choice for your outfit is not a good excuse. I get it that Winter can be dark and gloomy at times but walking around like a variation of a Pride flag is not going to cheer up the people around you very much. Secondly, I think you're paying for the extra colors on this mess of a sweater. Stick to one or two colors and then save the rest of the money for your heating bill!
