Shiseido Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizer Cream WhiteningI get the occasional zits and they take me a couple of days or even less to get rid of; after all these years of dealing with zits, I have become accustomed to the routine of drying them out and treating them at the source. What I am not used to just yet is the dark spots that these zits leave behind.

These dark spots are not as stubborn as the ones you get from premature aging but since I do not have to worry about aging skin just yet; they still bother me with their extended stay on my skin.

I decided to try this moisturizer from Shiseido after picking up a few of their products at the store. I do not have much experience with whitening products but after using this for 5 days, I am a convert. This moisturizer goes on easily and smoothly with a light, creamy texture that is absorbed quickly.

The next morning I woke up to really bright skin - bear in mind that whitening products can't literally whiten your skin; they can only brighten and even your skin tone to give you a healthy glow. I was quite surprised with the bright slate of my skin and after a few days of usage, the dark spots left behind by those zits began to fade and lighten. My skin looked healthier, radiant and softer.

This moisturizer works to also intensively hydrate your skin and by doing so, reducing fine lines and damage caused by environmental aggressions. With Super Bio-Hyaluronic Acid to lock in moisture and Spot Deacti-Complex to diminish the signs of uneven skin tone, this lightly scented moisturizer works for all skin type.

You can use this twice a day but I use this only at night before bed (because it doesn't have SPF). I know it's a tad costly but if you're in the market for a good brightening moisturizer, this is one to check out.

Avene Restorative Skin CreamIn life, accidents happen and sometimes shit hits the fan. It could be at work, at home or after a skin treatment. For me, it was after a skin treatment - the laser was too harsh on my skin and I had a small spot on my nose as a reminder to not think that I know better all the time; because I don't.

I picked this up at the store as soon as I realized the redness was not going to subside in hours; it had started flaking and was looking a tad inflamed. I applied this and hoped for the best. This turned out to be a bit of a skin saver.

After the first day, the burnt spot decreased in size and redness while looking less visible. The flaking had stopped and the skin around it looked less irritated. After 5 days and 3 applications daily, no one could tell or notice I recently had an abused spot.

This fast acting concotion of copper sulfate and zinc sulfate work together to help maintain a productive skin environment for repair and recovery. Mirconized sucralfate aids in the maintence of the fragile skin barrier and helps minimize irritation. Like all Avene products, this cream is chock full of Avene thermal water to help calm and soothe your skin.

You can use this on any open wounds; cuts, bruises, post-dermalogical treatmets etc and it is also gentle enough for use on infants. This is a must have for any first aid-kit.

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer, Medium-Tan Skin TonesIf you're not a fan of spending hours laying in the sun; it can get old after a while, the quickest way to get some color safely is by using a self-tanning moisturizer.

I've been using this moisturizer for about 1 year now when I want to get some color quickly. My skin adapts to tanning and self-tanners quite well - I don't burn or look unnatural (at least I haven't been told so!)

This doesn't have that overpowering tan smell a lot of other similar products do. It doesn't smell very great but it is not something you notice once you finished application. The good thing about this is that it gradually develops color so you don't look orange.

Another good thing is its price point, at US$5.36, you don't need to think twice about prolonging your summer look.

Kiehl's Ultimate Strength Hand SalveI was introduced to this hand salve sometime in 2006 and just by reading its product description, I was very eager to give this a try. It's got a light, minty scent and when you rub it into your hands, you'll feel a slight cool vapor effect. There is no extra greasiness save for the initial envelope of moisture that protects your hands from external aggressions. It claims to draw and absorb moisture from the air, forming a barrier like a glove would. I remember once washing my hands hours after an application completely forgetting that I had slapped some on before leaving the house and it felt like I was washing off a tiny coat of wax off. It stuck me because I was surprised at how the salve was still on my hands hours after my forgotten application. And if there is one thing you want from your hand cream, it's the ability to stay on and last.

It contains a blend of botanical oils as well as natural wax derived from Olives Oil to soothe, moisturize and repair the appearance of sever dryness caused by various factors. I can feel a difference in the texture of my hands and like that, I am sold. Like every hand cream, it's best to reapply after every wash of your hands. Get this at any Kiehl's store or online for US$12.50 for the 2.5oz/73ml tube and US$19.50 for the 5oz/148ml tube.
