I've always thought bikers were cool. The real, authentic ones not the poser pseudo-tough variety. It's the amalgamation of leather, tattoos, attitude by the buckets that make me one to be a part of one. But mostly, it's because they always seem to have kick-ass jackets. I want to go to there.  

This dark brown leather piece has all the trappings of a biker jacket with a refinement that won't go unnoticed. The simpleness of it - the double snap detail at the shoulder and collar, the side zip and the tone-on-tone stitching; makes this a piece you'll wear for years. 

Never out of style and always relevant, this will go even further than a bike if proper care is given. And that is the kind of quality that speaks for itself.

I've been on a hunt for leather jackets. That's the next big thing I'm buying. Leather jackets don't come cheap but when treated right, they can last you for life. So really, they are a great investment. Needless to say, when you are plunking down what could be a month (or a couple of months) rent for a single piece; it better be worth it. 

This stunner caught my eye and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. The leather in dark ink shade makes this a stand-out in the sea of jackets with 4-figure price-tags. The gorgeous dark ink shade gives this piece an instant hit of cool that is so important in a leather jacket. 

That's not all - I am digging the multiple details that make this piece a must-have for me. The quilt stitch detail at the collar and at the back waist is unexpected and appealing on so many levels. You get texture and detail at the same time. The creased leather adds a sliver of delicate, purposeful nonchalance.

I've been on the look out for leather jackets on and off for the past couple of months and I am holding out for the perfect one. 

I came across this and was instantly thrilled with its biker-cool vibe and the gaggle of details that draw you even closer. Having two different fabrics on one article of clothing is not something new - cotton shirts with silk collars, nylon shorts with cotton interiors, denim with lycra. That said, leather and knit do do splendidly together to help insulate you.

This jacket with its oversize knit collar adds a hit of detail that is modern and stylish. The simple silhouette and lines provide a good backdrop for the folded oversize collar to speak for itself.

Leather jackets are one of those pieces - perennially cool and timeless. They also don't come cheap which is why they are also investment pieces. You buy one, take care of it and wear it to death. This handsome pair from YSL will go splendidly with both jeans and tailored pants. The lace-up design feels right at home in the boardroom and the next big restaurant/bar. The intricate perforation on this lace-up adds a formal, stylish feel while not being stuffy. I am loving the contrast between the dark navy leather and the brown wooden heel; it is a subtle play on color and it's got my attention!

I've got to go play around with this some more but I am definitely searching for a pair of dark navy lace-ups to call mine this season!

The smooth grain leather portion is connected with the canvas ends resulting in a functional and neat get together of fabric. This rocking leather jacket from Martin Margiela is giving me lustbumps. They are like goosebumps but instead of being triggered during fear or cold, they get released when I see an item such as this. Lust and want combined into a potent emotional concoction. You heard it here first.

Coming back to this, I am digging the twin front zipped pockets on this jacket and the two zippers on the start and end of the individual zipper. They are still pockets so you get functionality as well as edge. The soft premium grey leather adds a sleek, devil-may-care debonair to the whole look. Mr Margiela has also thrown in 2 zippers at the cuff to complete the look. I can't wait to go try this on. Get this for US$1,903.85 at Diabro.
