I remember my first messenger bag - it was a nylon/cotton blend with multiple velcro straps and useful slots to store pens, cards and daily nick-knacks. I was 8 then and I thought it was so cool - so much so that I used it until my short 8 year old attention span found something cooler. But when that time came, that messenger bag was well-used and I had fond memories of pretending to be the neighborhood postman or milkman (but instead of bottles of milk, I delivered bottles of mineral water).
Now, I won't be storing any milk bottles is this sweet Lanvin messenger but I won't lose interest in this anytime soon too. This 100% calfskin leather piece is a looker and a wonderful everyday bag.
I am digging the folded flap design - it gives a stylish, chic vibe and will definitely make this a stand out among the sea of messenger bags. I like how the internal zip compartment is conveniently situated at the flap - adding to the sleek aesthetic of this bag.
The shape and size is great for errands, work and even travel. The black leather makes for a universal, classic companion that will go with most everything in your wardrobe. For all year round use and for those who prefer a more utilitarian look. Get this for US$1700 at Aloha Rag.

There are days where I don't need to carry a bag or don't want to lug a bag around. Those are the days where I wished I had something small and light that could contain a few essentials or notes when I have a meeting.
I am one to just throw everything in my bag and I love the freedom to be able to do that. But I am ready for a new habit - traveling light.
Which is why this simple document holder is a must-have for me. I am digging its simple shape and structure. With a zip closure, this makes for a smart everyday working companion. The cracked leather gives this a retro vibe which means this will look better in time and with use.
There are 3 colors - black, white and brown. I like all 3 but I would go for either the black or the brown. As much as I like the white, I am very clumsy and have sweaty palms so stains will inevitably show up so the black or brown option works better for me. Both mask stains and both handsome.

Shirts make up the most of my wardrobe. So much so that I realized that I needed to work on acquiring more tee shirts. Tee shirts are cool, light, convenient and easy to wear but a shirt can say so much more and go so much further.
Take this piece from Lanvin for example, I love the light grey shade of this 100% silk shirt. Soft, decadent and an instant classic, this is a shirt that you will wear for years and years to come.
I love how despite its simple intentions, there isn't a scrimping of details. The visible exposed trims on the collar and the sleeves give this modern, subtle stamp. Something that I could always do with more - despite my wardrobe of shirts!

Sneakers are perfect for those days where you want comfort, softness and a laid-back vibe. They can be worn with jeans, shorts or pants; versatility is a favorite of ours here at Style Flavors.
This cool pair from LANVIN has all the above mentioned attributes. It would look spiffy with tailored pants and a tee likewise with a crisp shirt and jeans.
I am loving the bright blue asymmetric side zip; it gives a fresh contrast to the black suede and adds a funky touch of detail. The silver patent toe cap lends a sleek finish to this stylish, cute pair.

Cashmere on skin is a wonderful luxury during the winter months and this cardigan from Lanvin is a chic piece that will brighten you up during the gloomy days.
The double front adds an interesting and unique detail that will attract compliments from random strangers. Don't you love how certain things in life can have that effect?
The slight ruching effect adds a cool, nonchalant vibe that will look great both at work and play. The navy shade of this luxurious cardigan will fit right into any wardrobe.
Take this to your tailor and have him/her take it in so that it fits snug. It would bring this already stylish piece to another level.

I've always wanted a tarantula for a pet ever since I was 8. I never gotten that wish fulfilled - they were just simply too difficult to find and I was too young to go venture into the black market alone to search for a spider.
That said, I like spiders - I think they are mysterious and quite cool. Needless to say, I am strangely drawn to this Lanvin tee and its spider motif.
The grey of the spider goes perfectly with the 100% cotton black tee. There is no label, no logo - just a kick-ass spider. Wear this with jeans and boots on the weekend or dress it up a level by layering it over a white shirt. Either way, this tee will speak for itself.

Sleek accessories are essential for every season but more so during Fall/Winter. That's when accessories really come in handy; from scarves to gloves to caps.
This beautiful double-fabric scarf will ensure you stay warm in style. The 100% wool portion is a dark grey while the 100% leather portion is black. It's quite ingenious to think of combining two fabrics for greater insulation.
And, the best thing is, you can flip it depending on which color you need to match your outfit with. The grey and black tones will go perfectly with most every thing in my wardrobe!
It is a tad expensive for a scarf but the upside of it is, you're getting quality material and a classic piece that will serve you well season after season.

Lucas Ossendrijver of Lanvin's menswear did a feature on Details on his 10 Rules of Style. Lanvin is one of the houses that gets me excited season after season. I am looking forward to checking out Lanvin's Fall 08 collection when I am in Paris come September.
My favorite rule: "I think it's distasteful when people buy clothes with logos or brag about what they spend on their clothes. Luxury should be something intimate."
I agree! So enough of the OTT (Over-The-Top) walking advertisements. Just because your favorite label churned it out and stamped its seal of approval all over, doesn't mean you should buy it.

The patent trend doesn't seem to be fading off anytime soon and I say that's a good thing. Patent leather makes for a vibrant sheen and colors that pop. Just like this sleek cap from Lanvin's Summer 08 collection. With a silver grey coated satin fabric, this cap will be the stylish shield from the summer sun when you're chilling with glasses of ice cold mojitos on board your private yacht. Check it out at various Lanvin boutiques.
