Details are great; detail and subtlety even greater. But the patchwork design on this wool blazer is nothing but subtle. It is big, loud, confusing and old.
I don't understand why designers would want to complicate their creations. Do they think that more 'details' means more warrant to charge more? More is less and you would think someone at D&G would get that by now.
It looks the type of arts and crafts project I used to do in elementary school where you learned about shapes by cutting different colored felt fabric and gluing them on a blank piece of paper. This is just like that - except you're not getting much of an education because all there is on this blazer is rectangles and squares and a ridiculous 4 digit price tag.
If you ever need an expensive reminder of your early years, you can find this for US$1,295 at Saks Fifth Avenue.
I am not a fan of Versace, I have always found their clothes and their products too OTT (Over The Top). But this sleek, clean blazer from their Spring 09 line caught my eye. I can totally see myself wearing this. I like the single lapel and the one button design but what I love is the white outline across the outside of the lapel and the front. It draws and highlights the sleekness of the cut and the shape. It's clear that this blazer has a versatility that I appreciate and I am sure you will too. Check your local Versace boutique for more details and Men Style.com for the complete collection.
