I travel quite a bit and I used to travel much more. Zipping from country to country; only heading home to repack my luggage. When I have some time in the airports, I think about how I would like to live for a short period of time in the days where people dressed up to fly. Where flying was something worth dressing up for. I would very much like that.
I got that thought after seeing numerous track suits, flip flops and asses that just don't make the grade to be termed 'juicy'. I know that period will never come again but I can try. And this gorgeous bag will be a perfect piece to accompany me on my quest.
The simplicity of this is a winning factor making this an instant classic that you can carry years and years from now. In your 20s to your 60s. The detail is minimal but so sufficient - two adjustable straps make up the most of the obvious detail but that's all you need.
Likewise, the tiny silver plaque is luxury at its best - intimate and personal. Store clothes, laptop, documents or whatever you might need on your next trip. This is certainly a keeper.
A quiet strength, this overnight bag will take you places and then some. Get this for US$1483.90 at Matches.
Science fiction is no longer just for fan boys/girls anymore. Its influence can be seen in the collections of Maison Martin Margiela, Raf Simmons and Balenciaga. I am always thrilled by futurism in fashion; especially if they are wearable and practical.
This wallet from Balenciaga is both. With 3 credit card slots and a coin compartment, you will have the required necessary space. The slant at the end of each card slot is the kind of detail I have come to love and expect from Balenciaga; subtle and useful.
The cool raised pyramid studs add detail and texture that will garner interest from random strangers and your peers. The hardy leather ensures durability and mileage.
Available in 3 colors - black, beige and white; but my vote is the black or the beige. The white runs the risks of discoloration which I hope in the future would be something that none of us have to worry about.

There are days when you need a little something extra to top off your outfit. Something more than a watch, something quiet and distinct in its own way.
This leather bracelet is simple, chic and unassuming. Perfect for jazzing up that night on the town look or for a dinner date. The silver studs are the sole detail but they hold their own to give off a modern vibe that is so easy to achieve.

I go through different phases all the time when it comes to clothes. These days, I am shrugging off denim and wearing tailored pants with everything. I think they bring a slight cool dressy vibe to an otherwise causal tee. Wear them with sharp shoes or Chucks and they will still look polished.
This cute, stylish pair from Balenciaga will eradicate the need for an extra belt. The dark navy tone will go with most everything in your closet and you can dress it up or down; however you please.
This straight leg pair will never go out of style and in times like these, it's great to have assurance like that!

Well-made, high quality shirts should be a staple in every man's wardrobe. Have them in white, black, navy and you can count on them to take you everywhere; from the boardroom to the bar to the after-hours party.
Fit is important so find a good alteration person to take your shirts in so they look like they were made just for you. Speaking of fit, Balenciaga is known for its great fit, I never have to tweak much of any of my Balenciaga pieces because they were made for smaller built individuals (which I am quite thankful of, because it used to be such a chore to find clothes that actually didn't look over-sized on me).
This smart navy shirt will be flawless when pair with either tailored pants, jeans or summer shorts. I am loving the unique button contrast - if you look closely, you can see how the blue tone of the buttons gradually lightens and then darkens again. Very sleek and subtle - an other thing you can count on Balenciaga for!

Balenciaga's Spring 09 is filled with science fiction influences, from the choice of fabric to the space age colors. It looks like the milky way inspired range got a head start this Fall with this simple yet unique sweater.
This 100% wool piece will keep you warm in subtle style. Layer it or wear it on its own; either way, you will be turning heads with the mono-tone rubber sleeve dots.
I am digging the play and use of fabric; the cool rubber dots remind of those cartoons I used to watch where the characters would communicate with each other via a device on their wrist.
I've always wanted one of those but this sweater would just suffice more than sufficiently!

Be still my beating heart! It is no secret that I am a Balenciaga boy and that I am in love with Nicolas Ghesquiere's vision and genius. I buy pieces every season and I try very hard not to play favorites but I love my Balenciaga pieces a little bit more.
I have a weird body shape; I am toned but extremely small-boned and it is quite difficult to find clothes that actually fit. Nicolas Ghesquiere makes clothes for people of his size (we're probably similar in size) and as such, they fit me well and only require slight alteration to look as if they were specially made for me.
These 3 jackets/blazers are on my list of To-Buy for next season. I am digging the science fiction influence and the unique texture and cuts on these super cool pieces. Look at the beautiful construction and the attention to detail.
I am loving the spaceship paneled buttons on the first jacket and the gorgeous cut on the end of the sleeve. The 3 buttoned blazer is neat and chic and would be great for both formal and casual occasions. I am also very curious about the metallic silver piece underneath that and I cannot wait to check out the whole Spring/Summer line!
I tried this gorgeous blouson on at the Balenciaga boutique in Paris and I didn't want to take it off. But sadly, they were sold out on my size. So you can imagine the hot reception it got when the Fall 08 collection hit the store.
This felt blouson was constructed beautifully; with snap button closure and contrasting seams. It was also made to serve its function; that of keeping its owner warm and chic. With two side hand-warmer pockets, it is easy to stay toasty during the colder months.
The thing I loved most about this was how amazingly it fitted. Get this in your correct size and you won't need another jacket for years.
If you look closely, you can also see how it's a tad puffed up at the mid-section and this is the result of the genius of Nicolas Ghesquiere whose keen interest in playing with shapes and silhouette never fails to excite me.
It might be a bit too heavy and thick for warmer months but come winter, this will make a stylish statement year after year.
Call your local Balenciaga boutique to see if they have it in stock.

I am digging the contrast white piping that trims the waistband; the contrast is visible yet subtle at the same time. No loud paint splashes or exaggerated rips. A thin white band just beautifully accentuates the dark navy shade of the denim.
Another little beautiful detail is the short hook tab that leads to the button fly; which itself is a unique touch not often seen on jeans. The straight leg cut will ensure a good fit and will look snappy with sleek leather lace-ups.
Dress this up or down; either way, you have a winner on your hands. A great pair of jeans is a must in every wardrobe and it never goes out of style.

This striped long sleeve tee from Balenciaga features a boat neck which is not something you see often. But you can wear this tee on its own or wear it as an outer layer over a shirt or a polo. Either way, this tee with its trendy tape-like (seen on items from Dolce & Gabanna and Martin Margiela) stripes will be just right for fall. Get this for US$469.23 from Diabro.

I am really digging this Balenciaga Leather Blouson from its Fall/Winter 08 collection. This has the trappings of a blazer; a sharp, fitted blazer but in leather. Very cool. I completely admire the genius that is Nicolas Ghesquiere for taking a classic piece and turning it into something entirely inspired and modern. I can't wait to try this on in the Balenciaga boutique in Paris come September! Check out more of the Fall/Winter collection here.
I bought this pair of boots at the Club 21 store in Bangkok the other week and they looked amazing with jeans. You could wear your jeans over the boots or tuck them inside. I was trying out the different variations to see the best way to wear this with jeans. The jeans tucked in look is the best as it shows off this beautiful boots and the details. The top 6 shoelace hole (3 on the left and 3 on the right) are also different from the bottom 8, the top 6 looked like rounded studs. With details like these, it would be a shame not to show them off! You can also wear the laces on the bottom 8 half only and it'll still work (makes the button-like studs more visible) and in fact, it's how I would wear this pair of striking boots. I've had a love affair with Balenciaga ever since I got my first Balenciaga shirt. It was sharp, fitted and incredibly sexy. Here's something perfect to welcome Summer. I especially love the braided twist at the clasp that covers just right above your ankles. I had to summon the help of a good pal of mine to procure a pair from Paris or New York; wherever he might be. When he first saw them, he exclaimed "They look like something Jesus would wear!". I am sure not only would Jesus wear them, he would divinely approve too! Get them for US$600 at selected Balenciaga boutiques.
