Balmain Waffle-Weave Trousers

One of my first pair of pants that I was really proud of were my cargo pants. I was 10 and it was the late nineties where cargo pants were huge. I thought I was so cool and I felt very cool. I bought them in a few colors and wore them for a couple more years before retiring them. There’s nothing trendy about them and honestly, they do pack a very utilitarian punch so I get why air-con repairmen and DHL guys wear them.

But skinny cargo pants? Come on, give me a break. And skinny cargo pants that cost as much as a month’s rent? WTF. Leave it to Balmain to create more ridiculously priced pieces and this unfortunate looking piece is neither modern nor cool. It looks off – the proportion and silhouette is far from stylish – oversized pockets with super-skinny legs? Fastest way to look like a fashion victim.
