Balenciaga Asymmetric Wool Coat details
Nicolas Ghesquiere is my favorite designer, hands down. I remember my first Balenciaga piece. It was a blue dress shirt with white stripes and contrast cuffs and collar – it was a dream and when I saw it hanging at Barneys, I knew I had have it and I did. I was amazed at the fit and it was a sartorial epiphany – I finally found a designer that made clothes that fit me. I followed his collection seasons after seasons and I never fail to be awed by his genius.
It’s like this gorgeous coat. In wool and grey – perfect for fall. But that’s not it – the asymmetric detail took my breath away (for a split second) as I marveled at the superb vision and the sleek, clean lines. The asymmetric hidden button placket shows off the subtle draping of the collar superbly while the streamlined side pockets shows off the excellent meticulous attention to detail.
The chest pocket is an additional platform for expression allowing you to slip a pocket square or a scarf. This is on the top of my want-list this season and like my very first Balenciaga shirt, I need to have this.
