I love the 80s - especially the music and occasionally the experimental dress sense. What I think of the 80s, I think of disco-balls and shiny, shimmery objects. But I am also about fun and this wallet is pure fun. It could go both way - this disco influenced subject but in the hands of Maison Martin Margiela, you get a functional, eye-catching and relevant piece. A lot of disco pieces go down the path of kitschy but this isn't one of them.
I like the small individual squares of plastic - they give just the right amount of shimmer without over-killing it. The useful snap button closure is great too - helps keep the flaps of the wallet together so you can better appreciate the fun detail on this wallet.
